My meds have been changed around so much that its been hard to determine monthly flares. I'm finally stable on meds for abit. And am thinking I am having a flare up.

But, it could be the weather, or decrease in sleep last two days. So, I am listening to my body and sleeping.

But.... How long is a typical flare up? A day? two days? 4 days? a week?

Thanks [Smile]

I flare for 10 days and then need a week to recover. I am early in treatment-month 4 so I hope this will get better in time.

For me, the flares have lessened in duration over the last 2 years. To keep from feeling nuts, I initially put little notes on my calendar each day ( I developed an abbreviation system like "F" for fever). Then I'd count the "good days" at the end of each month. It told me when I made progress and told me when I didn't so I could look for a different treatment. It was really helpful in seeing the number and severity of symptoms diminish over time. It gave me hope when I felt hopeless. So, I guess I'm saying that everyone is different and that it's important to figure out what "normal" is for you as you continue on your journey of recovery. Hang in there. It will get better.

I have had extreme Lyme illness symtpoms for 3 1/2 years and I have about 3 good weeks and then about 7-10 days of bad flares/or bad days. My husband my the connection early on and we have been observing it every since. I used to cry when the 24-26th of every month came around because I knew I would be feeling crazy or very sick for the next week or so. YUK!!!

I'm very near the end of treatment. My flares last a few days. There are more tolerable and can be alleviated with Advil for the most part.

Funny tutu [lol] [lol]

Thanks for the responses everyone.

The weather is back to being nice and sunny. I am back to sleeping like I should. My symptoms seem to have decrease a bit, but are still up some.

Really finding the cipro to be helpful now that I have adjusted to it... just wish that I didn't experience so many headaches and vision issues with it. Oh, well... Can't get a single med to do everything.
