In addition to my calf issues (I posted about my blood clot scare), I'm also having a dental problem. This is long, so please forgive me.
A week ago, I discovered an abscess on my gum, above a veneer that had broken. I have 10 veneers on my teeth, that were put in long before I became sick with Lyme.
My cosmetic dentist is 3 hours away, so the plan was to stay a couple of days and have the tooth situation rectified, by having him remove the veneer, and an oral surgeon pull the tooth underneath, and then have my dentist put a temporary veneer in again for aesthetic purposes, while the site healed and we decided whether to implant, crown, etc.
Just my (bad) luck, I get there, my dentist takes the veneer off, and tells me that 2 other veneers need to come off, too, because there is decay.
So, he takes them off, and sends me to the oral surgeon with a temporary bridge he had made, so I could get the tooth pulled and the bridge could be put in.
WELL, the oral surgeon stopped working because the air conditioning in the building was broke, and therefore my tooth couldn't be pulled.
I was essentially missing 3 teeth and certainly couldn't go home like that, so my dentist told me to come back and he would just put the temporary bridge in, and I could drive home the next day and have someone here in NJ pull it.
The good thing (I think) is that the novocaine that my dentist used seem to get rid of the abscess, as it turned white and then the bubble went down.
The bad thing, I am still waiting for my oral surgeon around here to remove this damn tooth. The appointment is scheduled for next week, and he will have to remove the bridge, pull the tooth, and then cement the bridge in again.
In the meantime I am feeling like crap. Heart racing, PVC's, crawling sensation in my chest and air hunger.
Do you think it's possible that after he removed the veneers that had decay, that may have stirred up the Lyme and Babesia that I am dealing with?
I've been taking Clindamycin for 2 weeks and usually I don't feel too bad while taking it, but this time I am suffering.
I'd love to hear any opinions.

I hope you are taking a whole lot of probiotics to keep your gut flora healthy! Clindamycin is famous for causing Clostridium difficile (C diff) which is a nightmare, and can be fatal.
My proferred solution is what works for me ---- buy a rife machine.
My GB4000 rife machine apparently works on my dental infections. It eliminates soreness when sore areas develop. I run dental frequencies on the machine, and it knocks out the soreness.
The rife machine sends low-level Hertz radio wave frequencies through your body, in a format that apparently kills microbes.

The novocaine would not have improved the infection - it is a topical anesthetic, a numbing agent. Unfortunately, the infection may have gone deeper in, if the injection was given directly into the abcess.

He didn't give the injection directly into the abscess, but when he put the topical numbing agent (I guess that's what they give to numb the area prior to injecting the novocaine), I believe that hit the abscess.
After I left, it was bigger and white, so I thought it was getting worse. By the next morning it had disappeared.

Call and ask your doctor or dentist for Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate oral rinse 0.12%).
My TMJ doc gave me this a couple weeks ago to treat a non-healing mouth sore. I big flap of my gums had gotten cut and pulled away from my tooth. It had been raw and not getting better for 3+wks.
This stuff is great. My doc said that it can be used long term for people with gum disease. It helps kill germs.
I don't have to use it anymore because it worked so well. Now i have some extra at home incase I get a cut or sore in my mouth. It also kept my tongue really clean without scrubbing. Very nice.
