Has anyone had long term sinus issues that have been attributed to babesia? The reason I ask, is that I am

still having non-stop sinus pressure on the bridge of my nose/forehead and have weird pressure/sensations

wrapping around past my temples. I feel "off" and my eyes feel heavy. I had a lyme appt yesterday and my doc

thinks my sinus crap could be caused from babesia. I have elevated enosophills from my labwork and she said

that could be an indication of babs in my system. I have been treating lyme & bart very aggressively and

really had no idea that I might have babs. I had a CT scan of my sinuses about 6 weeks ago showing that they

were pretty crummy, but flonase, diflucan, sinus rinses & diet have not helped at all. My ENT said I may be a

good candidate for sinus surgery, but I don't want to rush into anything.

Thanks

KY

sinus issues can have a lot of reasons. I get them during detox e.g. of course lyme, and other infections will cause this as well.
Did you try inhalation with salt/water for your sinus? maybe multiresistent staph or strep. this seems to be a issue very often. I think there is a special spray for these nose issues. Dr. Tei.... is using it for his CFS patients all the time. maybe google it. I would try this spray. He writes about this in his book "from fatigued to fantastic"

good luck!

I second the spray by Dr. T. It is a high grade/quality Colloidal Silver. Seems to work well for me when needed.

I dont mean the colloidal silver one but the one with the special antibiotic in it or are they the same?? dont know.

I don't know the absolute answer to your question as the mystery is still unfolding for me.

But I have had three sinus surgeries since 2003 to deal with sinus polyps. I don't test highly allergic to anything. I don't have typical allergic watery eyes, itchy eyes or even runny nose. I just get polyps and then I feel awful/sinus infectiony.

And it would seem that I have Babs. So I think I am wondering the same thing.

Be careful with surgery.....I know you know this but Lyme and co can flare after a surgery. It happened to me and my daughter. I think it helps if you are on good treatment when you go for surgery.

I feel for you. This is just so miserable.

Sinusitis problems
How can Serrapeptase Help?

Carol

I've been in serraptase for about two weeks now. I have not noticed anything different . I'm taking Doctors Best 40,000 units.

I checked the bottle, and 40,000 units of Serrapeptase is only one capsule.
You can increase the dose to three capsules, and then increase again in a day or two.

I think that at this point, the dose has been too low for you to see results.

Two things.
A friend in the Lyme chat room, Kyle, told me that he had started on Serrapeptase, but wasn't noticing any results.
When he finally got brave enough to increase the dose, he could feel a difference.

The other thing is that I myself did not notice results on Serrapeptase when I first tried it several years ago.
I was looking to decrease inflammation and head pressure.

I switched to Wobenzym and ramped up to 12 tablets daily, in one dose on an empty stomach.

Wow!
Within two weeks of starting, I no longer woke up every day to a splitting headache.

Although I'm not willing to switch back to Serrapeptase, I wonder if my dose wasn't high enough.

Also, remember that you might experience a Jarische Herxheimer reaction when you take systemic enzymes.
They reduce the fibrin in the bloodstream, and the white blood cells can find and phage the Lyme bacteria, leaving behind neurotoxins.

Are you taking supplements for liver support?

It seems like I do. I've had sinus issues for quite some time, and they seemed to get better with babesia treatment. However, I'm a bit flared up at the moment, so they are hurting again, and I do also have lots of allergies, so who knows the actual cause.

My sinuses have been clogged for months now and I'm treating lyme, babs and bart.

I wonder what is causing all of my sinus issues. It's hard to differentiate with air hunger and/or trouble breathing because of allergies/sinus issues?

Larae,
If you google for systemic enzymes + sinus, you'll find that fibrin seems to be a good part of the problem.

When we have a systemic infection (like Lyme) the body's immune system responds by increasing fibrin in the blood.
This is the reason why so many people with Lyme have sinus problems.

I can't stop this problem either. I hate it. My head always is pressurized. Right eye feels pressured/swollen. Every great once in a while, it'll be a bit better, but it's SO frustrating. As soon as it's about to rain, instantly the symptoms escalate. I'm like a barometer.

It's pretty hopeless. [Frown]

It could be yeast. Even a good ENT won't find this.

Not to jump on the alternative remedy bandwagon, but I feel strongly that oil of oregano resolved my sinus issues. I can breath better now than I could for years. The occasional frontal sinus headaches I get now are from Bart herxes. Yes, the stabbing pain in the eye and the TMJ. for me, that is all Bart.

If you want the manufacturer of the oil of oregano I use, PM me. That way I'll remember because I don't log on as much.

So should taking a systematic enzyme help sinuses?

I started taking Serrapetase and I think it makes me herx..

I did oil or oregano for months and didn't notice anything? How many drops did you do a day?

Posted by jackie51 (Member # 14233) on :

I didn't do drops, i did softgels. The manu is Designs for Health. My doctor has me on this to control yeast. I take it 3x a day.

I have many sinus infections and sinus issues. What currently seems to be helping is Mepron and artemisinin and BLT tincture. I think it is a combination of babesia and (bart or lyme).
