My 5 year old niece has a bullseye rash. My sister called me in a panic last night and sent me the pics. Went to pediatrician today but rash is much more faded. Doctor would not prescribe antibiotics, only took blood.

Will a bullseye rash fade overnight to almost nothing with lyme?? She has no other overt symptoms. No fever aches etc.

Did she show the pics to the pediatrician?

My guess is that an ELISA is not likely to pick up antibodies at this stage - but I suppose it's possible, depending on when she got bit.

I would guess it's possible, since some people apparently never get a rash at all. My experience was that the rash showed up and intensified from day 3 post-bite until about day 7, then took a good five weeks to fade completely. I did not become ill until the third week after, and even then it was a creeping onset thing where I did not think I had the flu until about six weeks post-bite. Only then did I realize it was a heck of a long bout of flu.
