How did your LLMD advise you to take oral Levaquin?

With dinner or breakfast?

In the morning. It can cause insomnia.

I've heard if I get the tendonitis to just stop it and take a break and restart at lower dose.

Some do fine with this method.

But Ii'm staying positive and hoping it will work.

Do you guys take it on an empty stomach?

I took 2 doses of Levaquin prior to being

diagnosed with Lyme's disease and it has taken

me over 3 years to get over the toxic cns and

pns symptoms. Not everyone will have an adverse

reaction to the fluoroquinolone antibiotics but

those of us that do can have many years of pain

and similar symptoms as Lyme's disease. Look

up fluoroquinolone toxicity. Scary stuff.

I took levaquin with my AM thyroid med, as soon as I woke up. You can wait and take it with breakfast but it needs to be spaced at least 2 hrs away from multivitamins and minerals.

Also, don't take it with milk or dairy products. It was easier for me to take it on an empty stomach in the AM, no worries about interactions then.

Take mag in the afternoon and at night to help prevent the tendonitis.

Thanks sammy

It didn't tear your stomach up doing it on an empty?

I tolerated levaquin fine on an empty stomach.

If you try it and it seems to bother you you can eat with it. Food will not decrease it's absorption. Just remember not to eat dairy at that time.

Levaquin and Factive have been my favorite most helpful bartonella medicines. They are powerful in a good way [Smile]

I got a nasty tendon problem from cipro. Be VERY careful as it can happen fast and cause damage .
