I have seen my llmd a few times. I should see her regularly but can't afford it.

I have an appointment to see her in a couple weeks and was planning on asking her to do all the lyme and co testing as I couldn't afford it before.

Do you have to stop taking abx??

I really don't want to, if I stop I get horrible flares once a month.

Has getting tested and knowing what to treat specifically really helped anyone?
from what I her testing is flawed and some abx treat several different things.

Just wondering if the testing is worth the expense.

if testing per microscope or doing a PCR then stop AB at least for 1 month. For antibody testing I would stop afew days, maybe for to 7 days before. Some AB can interfere with the fluorezens testing aof the antibody test I think.

If testing with a Western Blot, go off abx 10-14 days, per Dr C of MO.

Yes, you know what to treat, but many good LLMD's will treat according to symptoms...esp with coinfections.

I tested negative while off antibiotics for a lot of co infections. I later retested while on antibiotics and came up positive for a whole bunch.

I have never stopped antibiotics for testing, and I tested positive for everything.

Testing is defintely not 100%. It is important to see a doctor who is familiar with the different infections and their symptoms.

-But it may have been due to the fact that you were ON the antibiotics for awhile, causing the test to be more likely to show antibodies.

I did a month of doxy from a regular doctor then was off for about 20 days before an Igenex test with a LLMD. I tested positive.

He said it was best to be off for about 14 days before the test.
