So, I have been staying at this hotel since sun. night. This was supposed to be a kind of vacation for me.

I went swimming everyday for 3 days until I just felt too worn out. I guess I was trying to treat it like a "normal" vacation before I got sick and was ignoring my body.

Now I feel like crap, I have a fever blister on my nose, (haven't gotten one of those in forever) feels like a cold coming on, and the lymph nodes in my neck and armpits are sore (haven't had that since I first got sick and when severly herxing).

This really sucks. I was swimming without problem before I came but just not everyday.

I don't like this hotel room, the moment I stepped into it I started getting weird hot flashes, I do get these but it has been much worse here.

Who knows, maybe I am reacting to something else too.

Did I stress my body out too much or was I just unlucky enough to catch a cold while on vacay? Does it seem likely to get all these problems from too much exercise?

I'm guessing detox and taking it easy are the only things I can do now?

My guess...the swimming pool is likely heavily chlorinated.

The hotel room may have mold (wet carpets from previous customers and not completely dried out).

Not a great combo. for you.

Gently massage your lymph nodes.

Ask to switch rooms. Any available where you can open a window/slider?

Remember Mandy in Under Our Skin? As soon as she got in the pool she started deteriorating. I don't know what the connection there is. Maybe it's the chlorine, or maybe it's the colder water. Lyme hates heat.

I'm sorry you are feeling worse on vacation. Try to get some extra rest.

Since you don't know if it was swimming too much in the different pool or sleeping in the possibly moldy hotel room, maybe you should rest outside if possible.

Can you take a nap in a lounge chair? Many hotels have these situated around their properties. You can move one into a nice shady quiet spot. Or place it near the pool and enjoy some people watching while you relax.

Bring an extra towel or hotel sheet incase you get chilly in the shade. Roll a towel up for your pillow.

You can still have fun and enjoy your vacation!

Thanks for the responses. I have a suspicion that there may be some kind of mold here. I stopped having the weird hot flashes so much when I moved out of the moldy house and practically the minute I stepped foot into this hotel room I started getting major hot flashes.

My fiance hasn't felt well either. I guess after being in a moldy home and having lyme it makes you super sensitive to stuff others don't notice.

Unfortunately the windows don't open. I am spending time outside and thank goodness will be leaving tomorrow morning.

I would break out in hives when I went into chlorine when I was very sick with lyme. I just went swimming for the first time in two years and didn't break out-but the smell gave me a headache. I'm not sure why this is, but it sucks.

I have spent some time in salt water pools and those are great!

Good luck

I have my pool and almost not chlorine. I noted also that my back is hurting after every swim. I stopped to swim. I think it might be or cold water or some muscle exercise swim problem (I am very week now). Pool is bad for me.
