I have been having the worst week in a very long time. It has been one day worse than the last. I cannot say if it is a backslide or not, but it has been 7 days of pure neuro hell.

I recognize most of these symptoms as Bart, especially the Rage, anxiety, and irritability. I can barely keep myself together. Yesetrday I was feeling so wound up, like I was going to explode. I slammed my fist into the wall 5 or 6 times to calm myself down. My hand is trashed and swollen now, but it did take me out of my "psycho loop". I can't keep doing that, I'll run out of hands pretty quickly.

5 weeks ago, I switched from Bactrim ds to Cipro, after 8 months of using Bactrim. I was getting increased Anxiety and twitching, so LLMD thought it best to pursue Bart harder. So we switched to Cipro. At first it was really bad, then I started having a LOT of good days, where I was almost well, and now this past week I have been in hell. Pain, neuro, fatigue and major Bartonella rage and anxiety. Suicidal thoughts and thoughts of worthlessness. I've been here before. In fact the last time, I treated with Cipro and the symptoms just waned over 5 months. The big mistake was stopping at 5 months.

Could the Bart be resistant to Cipro? The twitching has gone away, and been replaced with much much worse stuff. It felt like it was really getting at the Bart at first. But this is the worst I have felt in a good year. I am miserable and I have been wishing for death over the past week. Damnit I hate this. I was doing so well.

Is this a backslide? Resistant Bart? A very long and miserable herx? Do Bart herxes last longer than a day or two? Why would this happen after 9 months or so of feeling steady improvement?

So sorry for your struggles.

We have so many ups and downs because when we beat down one infection, the next opportunistic infection takes advantage. Up and down we go.

For me, I always thought Bart was my biggest issue (buzzing, tingling, twitching, etc. etc.). It turns out this has all been parasite related for me. I've heard others say this but I didn't think that was the case for me.

Since I started aggressively for parasites about 7-8 weeks ago all of my symptoms are way way down. And I'm having astounding results to parasite treatment. I truly had no idea I had such a monstrous infection. I never even complained of GI discomfort so I really had no clue.

Check out some of my past posts. And read a lot of glm1111's. I would suggest putting parasite treatment at the top of your list. Even if you do anti-parasitic herbs with salt/c, as Gael did (this is what brought her into full remission after 30+ years of being ill!!). It would be best to get your doc on board so you can be monitored.

I think this is perhaps the most overlooked infection....and quite possibly the primary infection that needs to be addressed in order for the other infections to be eradicated. Just my opinion.

Be well,
Tammy

I am not overlooking parasites. I have done parastroy in the past, as well as a blessed herbs kit. Presently I am not on anything for parasites. My abx load is about as high as it gets.

Like I mentioned, the twitching and tingling went away with Cipro. My biggest issues now are mostly neuro, with some pain.

I am sure I will need to get more aggressive with Parasites, but presently the anxiety, raging and crying are my problem. I am afraid to go back to work tomorrow.

Oh I can relate. I never had the rage, but had the anxiety and suicidal thoughts, still do. Depression too. It is unclear what the cause of all this is, but for sure those symptoms are the worst. The absolute worst. And no one really understands, even ther patients. Can't understand until you've been there.

In my case, I have treated bart for years with all combos, and not really improved with lasting gains. My symptoms still read like a laundry list of "bartonella" per Dr B. I would have a positive response to bart meds but then lose ground.

I am now turning my attention elsewhere--my doc thinks it's probably another microbe causing these problems. Possibly the Fry bug which I test positive for, along with severe biofilm issues. Could Dr B have been onto this all along with the "BLO"? My chronic sole pain which I attributed to bartonella went away on Tindamax, go figure.

So I am doing as Tammy suggests and looking at parasite and protozoa as cause.
You should be on boluoke and serrapeptase if you are not already, those help my head a lot.

I can't afford any more supps at this point in time. Boluoke is $100 bucks for a months supply. I only make $250 / week. Can't do it. I take Interfase Plus for Biofilms. I also take Japanese Knotweed, which is supposed to be good for all infections, but particularly Bart. Not sure what else to do. LLMD will be open to ideas, but I don't really have any.

Doing a stint on Parastroy or some other herbal formulation is not nearly enough. Look at Gael, she was on anti-parasitic herbs for 6 months and had no results....until she started adding salt/c. Then she said the bugs literally came pouring out of her for months.

I feel strongly that parasites need to be treated aggressively in order for us to get well.

Also good for biofilm is cistus tea, per Dr. K. I just bought some and plan to add it to my regimen. I also do take Boluoke. I know its expensive. It's such a shame this illness costs so much.

Best to you,
Tammy

I would also look into the Interfase Plus as a cause. Try and hold off for a couple of days and see if you feel better.

Interfase was very tough for me. breaking the biofims can release a large amount of metals and microbs in your system.

I've been doing Interfase for 3 months. Why would it suddenly make me this crazy?

Just a simple suggestion to see if it could be the cause. I am going by my own experience with the Interfase Plus.

Just a thought..

I am not discounting what you say at all, in fact its a very good point and has given me something else to think about. My questioning is a bit short because my brain is in frantic mode and I want relief right now.

So thank you for your help and everyone else who is pitching in and answering me here.

Bearly, did you have a reaction right away to Interfase, or did it come weeks later. I did have a 1.5 week period when I was waiting for it to be delivered, so perhaps that hiccup was kind of like a pulse. I don't know. It is hard to think.

Hi Lymeboy... sorry you are going through this...

I tend to agree with bearlythere... are you taking Interfase or InterfasePLUS... there is a difference in that InterFasePlus has EDTA in it.

I had a terrible time with InterfasePlus as well..and stopped it after only 2 days...

I take Interfase Plus. I was fine for months until last week. Then all hell broke loose.
