when i originally called the gastro he was booked for two months. luckily i talked to his assistant and explained what was happening. she called on monday and i told her how i felt.

well they called yesterday and said to come in at 12:30 cause they had a cancellation.

they said they didn't believe it was pancreas (well, i do tho), and they still think it might be the gastritis or stomach.

i have not had any testing since 2001. didn't realize it had been that long.

they took me off everything except probiotics and put me on creon, a pancreatic digestive enzyme. three with meal, one with snacks.

i am also starting testing with an upper gi where they put the scope down into the stomach in august. ugh, i dread this, but it's just right up the street. and it's at 6 in the morning.

i have lost almost 10 pounds now, which i really do need to loose. don't mind that but i stay pretty hungry.

could have been the abx, the humaworm, something, i don't know. the pain is still there in my shoulder blade and my stomach is very sore. still have the belching and passing gas.

well, we'll see. i sure hope we don't go though this months of testing and all comes back negative, but it's happened before. i've had every gastro test except an ercp and they all are normal.

thank heveans for my insurance cause i have two years left until i go on medicare.

the digestive issues are the worst.

Sorry you are still in pain. At least they are now willing to help.

The upper GI scope is simple dimple. The worst part is the nasty spray they give you to deaden things.

hmm, they're going to put me out for this. i just hate to be sedated. overall they said about 3 hours, procedure is only about 1/2 hour but it's the prep and recovery time.

never had gastritis but that's what they're thinking. something has really torn up my system.

Yes, they knock you out. I recovered very quickly. It's not full sedation unless they are doing other things to you that I didn't have.

It's the same stuff they give you when doing a colonoscopy.

sounds like a good gastro...even if it is neg you will have new info-not have to worry about many things

last gastro i went to told me to go gluten free. 2 days later i had emergency appendectomy. jerk.

I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy at the same appointment, and I actually felt better afterward than I had in a long, long time. NO food toxins in my body at that point. At all. It made it clear to me that I had some kind of issue with food.

I was more concerned about the colonoscopy, to be honest. I had the endoscopy first, and I remembered talking with the nurse, then I know I kind of came out of the anesthesia for a second when they were pulling out the scope - I remember coughing and hearing the doctor saying something about me starting to wake up.

Next thing I knew, I was mid-sentence in a conversation with my husband and the GI doc. Mid-sentence. That was a bit unnerving, as I had NO idea what I was talking about!

I slept better that day than I had in weeks [Smile] .

I hope you find some answers. While mine came back as "inconclusive" for celiac, I knew that I had to be figuring out some food issue. I went gluten free and have never looked back on that.

rera.. I feel better too when I get all cleaned out. No toxins and junk!

The testing for gluten/celiac is very unreliable .. rife with false negatives. In order for the small intestine biopsy to be valid, you need to be eating the equivalent of 5 slices of bread daily for 90 days prior to the test.
