Anyone use avelox yet for bart & can compare to factive, levaquin or rifampin (also what goes well with rifampin)

for me I think avelox worked better than levaquin, but Im testing it out at the moment. Avelox works better against mycoplasma than levaquin and bart is suggested to be a form of mycoplasma. I didnt try factive, not available in my country. Avelox has also fewer side effects (as levaquin)
Mino could be a choice.

I liked Factive better. I thought that it was more effective than Avelox and it had no side effects.

Avelox seemed to work well but caused GERD, gastritis symptoms for me. I couldn't handle the stomach burning and stopped it after 30days.

Now I take IV Levaquin. It works as well as Factive.

Rifampin didn't seem to help much at all and it interacts with many other medications. I tried it for several months before moving on to Factive.

If you really want to hit bartonella, take the quinolone with Mino or Doxy. That is a good combo.

I took a short court of Avelox back when I had just gotten sick with Lyme and co. That was before I knew I had Lyme and Co, which is why it was a short course for presumed sinus infection.

I had very intense odd dreams with it. And weird violent thoughts. I'm quite sure it was a herx since I found out later that I do have bart and I had taken Avelox pre-Lyme and co without those effects.

Later, I took Rifampin for the bart and certainly didn't have any intense herxing like with the Avelox. So, if I'm going solely on Herx, then the Avelox seemed a lot stronger.

My bart symptoms have been relatively very mild in comparison to my Lyme and babs and I wonder if that was because it was knocked way back by the Avelox early on.
