I have bee treating Lyme and co with a top notch doc for 18 months now. I am greatly improved but still have really crappy days and not back to my pre-Lyme self. Anyways, my llmd has said that it. Is okay for me to try and conceive as long as I let him know first so that I can be switched to pregnancy safe drugs. I will def treat throughout and after with abx, of course. Anyways, I just wanted to hear from people who have Been pregnant ith Lyme. How did you feel during and after pregnancy? I am afraid of how I will feel during and especially after- I don't want to lose any gains I have made.
I am only looking for feedback from people who have had experience with this. I know that people have differing opinions on whether people with Lyme should/ should not have babies and I am not interested in engaging in a discussion about that. Thanks for your time!

I just want to say from personal experience please be careful breast feeding.
Here is a link to our famous Dr. B at a recent conference stating 4 out of 4 breast milks tested positive for Lyme.

I did a search which shows that there are about 25 pages of posts on this but any page number I click on after page 2 says " your search did not produce any results."

Your PM box was full. Here's what I tried to send you:
My friend has congenital Lyme, so her primary infections were Lyme and Bart. She did not have Babesia. She did have lots of active viruses.
She treated for about two years before getting pregnant. She lost her first to a miscarriage. She could not keep her progesterone high enough, even with vaginal suppositories through her LL OB-Gyn.
She carried her second pregnancy to term, and had a healthy baby girl in January. She took Amoxi and Zith throughout her pregnancy. She had her cord blood and breast milk tested by Igenex. She submitted 6 samples and all came back negative.
She did not crash after her delivery, which I was kind of expecting. She did have TONS of help with the newborn, which I'm sure made a huge difference.
I would say she was close to 90% when she got pregnant, with no really bad days. She has continually improved since the birth. I haven't seen her in a couple months, so I don't know if she's still on abx.
Please make sure your Babesia is fully under control before getting pregnant. I don't know if you can take antimalarials during pregnancy.
Otherwise, stay on abx and take really good care of yourself!

- Could be that it's just allowing you to go deep into the archives. It didn't use to be that way, but I've had trouble in recent years with the same thing.

Here is the reason you need to be sure you don't have babesia when you become pregnant:
Vertical transmission means the baby got the disease in utero from the mother.
And here is what it says about one of the babesia drugs:
" There are no adequate studies on pregnant women using Mepron. Mepron should only be used during pregnancy if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. It is unknown whether Mepron is excreted into human milk. Caution is advised when administering this drug to nursing women. "

I just recently had a baby. I actually felt better during pregnancy. It has been 7 months and I am starting to feel bad again. I will say my pregnancy I had before the lymes was very smooth. This pregnancy I had problems with contracting and also developed pregnancy induced hypertension. Not sure if it's related to lymes.
