I went to a practitioner a while back who told me that I should stop taking glucosamine chondroitin because it can cause prostate cancer.

Now that I'm having a lot of inflammation and joint pain (I don't know if it's a Lyme flareup, a viral flarreup, or just the immune system being boosted) I'm wanting to start taking the stuff again.

That particular practitioner turned out to be a ding-bat, so I don't know whether to believe everything that comes out of her mouth or not.

Anyone hear anything similar?

I just did a google search. I'm sure you can find more info by doing an internet search and make a decision.

Best, Timaca

Well... I don't have to worry about that, but after reading the side effects I may stop mine this next month.

I've been ordering glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM combo for 3-4 yrs.

I think I'll try glucosamine and MSM this month.

thanks, timaca!

Hmm, sounds sketchy but nevertheless, I guess it's not worth the risk.

Thanks, T.

chaps,

There are so many ways to address pain.

Corydalis, Fish oil, Magnesium, Turmeric, etc. may be better in the long run.

And, liver support is really the number one pain management approach. Be sure your liver is happy.

LIVER SUPPORT & and several HERXHEIMER support links, too.

Some KIDNEY support detail, and some pain detail.

LL ND (naturopathic) link here, too.
