Do you think doses of abx and other drugs take/should take weight into account? Ie doses higher for a larger man versus lower for a petite woman?

Well, certainly for a child I find this true,

but I've had the same thought for myself, weighing 98-100 #'s,
and getting full dose scripts.

My LLMD dosed my Mepron according to my weight.

I am not THAT light but at 5'7" and 116 lbs. I had a hard time with higher doses.

He seemed to be okay with it as there are a ton of kids these days that weigh more then smaller adults!

I am 5 feet 2 and 83 or so pounds at the moment and mr dr has me on pretty much full doses of meds. There was a period where he was being overly cautious and in the "small girl small dose" frame of mind, but now I take full doses of almost all meds. Jess.

Interesting. I've been worried that I'm Getting strong enough doses but then I wondered if at 105 if the regular doses are in fact stronger doses for me in essence....hoping so!

I'm the exact opposite. 6'+, broad shouldered man with about 230lbs weight.

I get the same dose as you "small" ladies.

I worry mine are too low.

I hear you. I'd be really worried about that. Just doesn't make sense that it'd be enough for you. Is your llmd using aggressive doses?

Some Rx must be adjusted for weight in order to reach and sustain effective therapeutic levels. However, not all.

For some Rx &/or some patients, higher doses can cause liver &/or kidney damage.

Some herbs, too. Some need to be higher if weight is higher but that does not hold true for all.

Allicin is one that is adjusted up for those whose weight is up.

Too much B6 can hurt nerve tissue. Too much zinc can stress immune function.

One's LLMD &/or LL ND are the best guides.

Ordinarily, pharmacists are excellent resources but where lyme treatment is concerned, it's best to go through one's LL doctor for various reasons.
