Do you have ehrlichia? Can you isolate your symptoms? Do you think it might have been dismissed in your treatment because it is thought to be so easily cured?
I have always been suspicious that my dry eyes were caused from ehrlichia. Irritated eyes are one of the symptoms in dogs. I had 3 months of doxy in the beginning of treatment and am going to start it again soon. 3 months may not have ten enough to wipe it out.
I looked up symptoms for humans and dogs which include fever, fatigue, pain in muscles and joints, inflamed eyes, swelling in legs (in dogs), low platelet count, nausea, diarrhea, headaches, coughing and neurological problems. Many of the these symptoms overlap with other infections so it is hard to know what is causing for for certain, but I wonder if I have another underlying infection still going on. I had ALL of these symptoms last winter.
Another thing about ehrlichia is that it goes dormant and then surfaces again - in dogs. When it is not caught in the acute stage it can require lifetime antibiotic treatment. Why would this organism behave differently in humans? I go through periods of time of feeling pretty well and then get sick again. I am worried about that happening right now.
I had a splitting headache this afternoon that made me nauseous. I have been getting more frequent headaches which I attributed to stromectol but I have been taking a lot of days off and still get them. It is not behind the eyes like protomyxzoa.

Sorry I can't answer your question, my daughter has Lyme & Co including Ehrlicia and has many of thses symptoms but they are also Lyme symptoms, maybe except the coughing. Was wondering how high were your titers? Hers were just above the normal range so elevated but not super high. She was on 60 days of doxy and now we switched her to a different combo. Curious about your post. She also has asthma, today she seemed to have a Lyme flare, knee pain and depressive episode but she was also coughing earlier, I gave her albuterol. Your post now has me wondering is her issue perhaps Ehrlicia? Her titer is now normal.

Yes, I've had it test positive over and over again for years, except for one test. I have had doxy, but clearly not enough. I agree; I do think drs don't realize how chronic Anaplasma/Ehrlichia can be, and how hard it is to get rid of when you've had it a really long time.
I know that I am suffering from it on many counts---along with all the other infections.
I didn't want to be on doxy in the summer, but soon it will be time to think about going back on it. sigh. What a long, difficult battle.

I know this will sound like it's coming from left field but.....have you been checked for mycoplasma?
I had erlichia and it did go away but I also had lingering symptoms similar to what you both describe.
When we finally found out my son has mycoplasma, we tested our whole family for it and I have it as well.
It's a stubborn infection that keeps coming back. When symptoms go away and I stop treating for it, even after I wait the additional 6 weeks after symptoms subside, symptoms slowly creep back in and I test positive again.

I will have to look up my mycoplasma. It seems like there is always something else to get diagnosed with. Does it cause you to have dry irritated eyes? That has been the most persistent symptom for me.
Hopeny, Protomyxzoa can also cause a dry unproductive cough. I just found out ehrlichia can do it too. I believe babesia also does. Protomyxzoa causes nasal congestion and I don't think the other infections do. That is one way to distinguish it. I get my pains in my knee now and then from protomyxzoa, but not lyme.
It is a stabbing sensation and then it can ache. That is gone now and I don't want it to come back. I hope you can figure out what if anything else, has infected your daughter.

@momintexzs my DD has Myco also, what got rid of it for you? @nefferdun: is Protomyxzoa a parasite? what exactly is it? How to treat? My DD gets frequent nasal congestion too. She has tested negative at Quest, Igenex and Sonoma county Lab for Babesia, based on her symptoms I am fairly comfortable that she does not have Babs. Bartonella is a question mark, may do Galaxy test next year but can't pull her off abx for four weeks to test or she will tank,
