Hi all, Its been a while since i have been on. Been

getting treated by a great Dr. in IL for the past

8 months and im starting to feel a lot better.

One problem...

Im a 26 year old male, and im experiencing quite

a bite of hair loss on the top of my head

since about 23. I suspect i have been sick with

lyme since 19 or earlier. Its strange, Baldness

doesnt run in my family too much, and i am one of

the youngest cousins, and the only one

experiencing this hair loss. Its quite

embarrassing for me, being so young, and i have

had EXTREMELY thick hair throughout my entire

life, until now. Anyone else experience this top

of the head thinning, or is it that im just

unluckily going bald?? Thanks all!

P.S.- I have

the same post in the general support section, but

it was brought to my attention that i would

probably receive more insight on this section

of the thread. Sorry for the redundancy...

Has the hairloss increased since starting treatment? Are you on Diflucan which one of the side effects is Alopecia? Have you had your thyroid and testosterone levels checked?

I'm a woman who has been experiencing hairloss for the last three months. Labs are normal. I've been told by my Dermatologist to use Nioxin and Men's Rogaine Mousse. Also to take 1000 mg of Biotin and Folic Acid along with a good multipurpose vitamin.

Frankieb,

The abx makes your hair fall out. I'm on Doxy, Biaxin, & Plaquenil and my hair is falling out LIKE CRAZY! Luckily, I have a lot of hair to begin with, but I am losing it like you would not believe! I think it's the Doxy causing it.

Plaquenil is the culprit for me.

Doxy and Plaquenil did it to me too. Great advice from NEMOM.

Hello - I have had some diffuse hair loss at different times. It seemed to be allergies/sensitivities that I think were causing the problems.. you might want to look into your hair products or any potential sensitivities and allergies in addition to the above suggestions...

Thank you for the replies all. It actually started

a few years ago, but has really kicked up a notch

since starting the abx.Im super thin on the top,

and the only one in my family with this problem.

Way to kick a man when hes down! It seems like

rogaine has be helping in the temple areas, but

its still falling out everywhere else. thinner

and thinner by the day. Im on cefdinir,

azithromyocin, and flagyl. My testosterone was

also low, but this problem has been corrected. My

thyroid levels tested within normal ranges.

When you say your thyroid levels are normal, what tests were run?

Hypothyroidism was the culprit for me.

I was wondering the same thing too poppy.

My thyroid labs have always been within normal limits. Tuesday I saw a BHRT doc and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and possible adrenal fatigue.

I'm new to this so quite lost.
He told me the reference range doesn't mean a whole lot.

My free T3 and T4 were low normal with TSH in mid-range.
That in addition to my symptoms including hair loss led to the diagnosis.

I was just started on Armour Thyroid 15mg/day and to increase by one pill/week until reaching 120mg/day.
Sure hope it helps with the hair loss but moreso the heavy brain fog. Will let you know though.

Well, supposedly my thyroid levels are within normal ranges. Testosterone was really low, but has been corrected with clomid.

Next time we draw blood, ill have my llmd take another look into my thyroid levels. Ill keep you uys posted, and thanks for the ideas.
