My hubby has been dealing with this since his tick bite over 2 years ago and has not gone away with conservative treatment. It waxes and wanes and seems to flare when I am.
He is scheduled to see a good LLMD in Dec. but for now was wondering if Bells Palsy is more related to lyme or a co-infection. Babs, Bart or just good ol' lyme? Thanks...

Bell's palsy is only associated with lyme disease. It is not associated with any of the coinfections.
In my experience, lyme and its symptoms do NOT go away with conservative treatment.
The way I got rid of these diseases was by going to a doctor who followed the Burrascano protocol--high doses of antibiotics in combination.
I did single antibiotic at a high dose for 2 years. It helped with some symptoms, but then the lyme began to progress and I got trigeminal neurlgia. That was terrible.
I went undiagnosed for a long 10 years. During that time, I got a mild bilateral bell's palsy that lasted for 3 years. It came one day and it left one day 3 years later. This is all prior to my getting diagnosed with lyme disease. What I had is called "facial drooping."
I was eventually diagnosed with lyme, babesiosis, and bartonella. I got good Burrascano treatment for 13 months and was finished with treatment--got rid of all of my diseases. That was 7 1/2 years ago.
So, it is my opinion that when your hubby gets to the good lyme doc in December, if he treats the Burrascano way, everything will turn around. The doc is the key to getting rid of this disease. Can't stress that enough. The doc is the key.

Thanks..Yes, I agree. Ten years of sub par treatment for myself until I finally got into the hands of a great LLMD. Finally getting better.
