Hi -

I am having a "procedure" done in the next few weeks to remove a mass in my uterus. Ultrasound results give appearance of a common polyp - though my doc said until removed, tested etc - nothing is "for sure."

So....I don't want to over-react as the likelihood is high that it's a benign polyp. However, at the same time, if labs come back that it's something "concerning" I wonder if I will have wished tissue was sent to a lab for TBD testing, hmmm.

So, my question - would you talk to your doc and arrange for TBD testing? If so, what lab? What tests? Anyone have experience and info on tissue testing for TBD's? I've been previously dx'd with Lyme and ALL co's....what to do?

I appreciate any input you have. Of course, I am dealing with my gynocologist on this one. However, she's been my doc for 20+ years; although she knows little about TBD's, she believes it and me - knows I've been sick etc. Thanks. TS

I don't have an answer for you. I just wanted to say that I had a uterine polyp removed a few years back. I wonder if this is related to bartonella. It would be great if you could get it tested, but, I'm sure they will be testing it for cancer, and I wouldn't think the lab that does cancer testing would be capable of silver stain test for lyme.

I had a lipoma removed a while back, and it was a real pain to get them to send it for testing (I had it looked at for parasites). Plus, they all treated me like I was crazy. It turns out that they found nothing, by the way.

Check to see if Igenex will do tissue testing. If so have your doc send one tissue there and another to his normal lab.

I had some knee synovium sent out for testing to regular lab. If I had sent it to Igenex I would have been effectively treated sooner.

Your LLMD (or past LLMD/s) should have some ideas.

In addition to Igenex, inquire here, too:

I had cysts on my ovaries, the last of which was 8cm in diameter, which led to partial hysterectomy.

That was when I was living in mold. I wish I had the tissue tested. I bet it was mold.

I have no idea who would test that though. If anyone knows a lab that does tissue testing, I hear of cysts on the ovaries all the time in the mold support groups I belong to.

Send me a lab that will test... and I will find someone in need of testing.
