I think my son is allergic to our puppy. Skin tests come back negative for dog/cat but is there a way to test specifically for our dog?

I don't want to give her away if don't have to!

For that, I would go to an NAET practitioner, bringing your son and hair from the puppy. (With many dogs/cats, you can just brush them enough and the hair will come off from that, then store it in a clean plastic bag such as used for snacks/sandwiches.) They should be able to test and treat.

It really is best to have clean clothes on for this (not slathered with puppy fur), and be able to avoid contact with the animal for the next 25 hours (such as if going out of town). There are methods for dealing with the less-than-ideal circumstances which can give a good chance of the treatment still working.

2 young. I am very allergic to dogs.... And I now have two that of a breed I can tolerate, but while they were puppies, my allergies were brutal. Is your puppy still having house accidents? Urine is a huge allergen. And puppies seem to get it all over them, let alone the house. I remember one night one of my pups peed in his crate... Cleaning everything up I had a huge allergic and asthma reaction.

There are wipes. I bleieve simple solution makes them that you wipe your dog down with that helps the humans they live with with allergies.

I also think you could do your own allergy test by lightly scratching your son with a pin and then wiping some of your dogs saliva. On the scratch if it swells. He is at least allergic to the saliva. But perhaps you already know if he gets hives where the dog licks him.saliva is also a powerful allergen from animals.

Yes our puppy is a licker and stubborn with housebreaking. She's a papillon and I've heard they are difficult to train. We're going to try to board her for a month and see if that helps my son. If it does, we will have to give her away.

I have ALS symptoms and its very difficult for me to keep the house spotless. I love the dog but I'm exhausted and my son is too sick.
