Doc put me on amoxicillin by itself. I don't think monotherapy works. What should I be taking with this (abx)?

I was taking Amox. with Plaquenil and pulsing Zythro and Flagyl. HAd to stop due to Amox. allergy so hard to say if it would have helped.

Most LLMD's use a cocktail of several different abx to cover everything. I don't know anyone who is getting better on just one abx.
Each person is different so I don't think anyone can say what you should be taking. I would look for another LLMD in your area. Post in seeking to see who is good in your area. Make sure you put the state you are in when you post.

Did the Dr explain why only one antibiotic?
I ask this bc it may be that he/she is introducing one at a time to make sure you don't have allergic or bad side effects.
If he hits you with 3 meds and you have an allergic reaction, he may not know which one it is.
Just a thought.
Mine is concerned w liver function to make sure I can process antibiotics if he puts me on them.
I'd ask a billion questions to understand the game plan of attack so you know what to do/expect and when to call etc. KW

It is actually a mismatch of doctor and patient, due to lack of docs in the region. I am an old hand, he is rather new to treating.
Have been on many meds already in the past, so I think it is more a matter of his not knowing to use more than one med. And it is most unlikely that this will work, when two previous meds in combination were not enough. Really, the only thing that works for me is longterm IV and neither of us is crazy about that prospect.
He would probably prefer that I disappear from his patient load because of this. And against my better judgement, I told him about recently diagnosed melanoma spot to be removed soon. This was probably just too much for him to cope with. I should have just kept my mouth shut because it had no bearing on my lyme treatment, and makes it look like I am a hopeless case.
On top of all this, I told him I had been bitten again (visiting dog brought it in house). No wonder he left the room without saying goodbye or finishing prescriptions I needed. Maybe I should just admit it is hopeless. Not many (any?) docs would want me as a patient.
