Yesterday my eyes were totally blood shot and hurt so much I could not keep them open. Why could the rest of me feel pretty good but my eyes remain so messed up? I have always complained the lingering symptom that never improves is my eyes. Then it occurred to me. . . .

The vet told me the cornea and white parts of the eye do not have blood flow so they will not get antibodies to fight infection. This is why they do not have to give people steroids after a cornea transplant - there are no antibodies to cause rejection.

This is why you always treat the eye directly putting medication directly into it. How many of us were ever given eye drops for infection! I sure wasn't!

I found some vet antibacterial ointment and put it into my eyes. There was immediate relief and this morning my eyes are much better.

How could the doctors dismiss our complaints about our eyes and never treat them! It is even possible that we could become reinfected from our eyes because it is a safe haven from the bacteria etc to gather when under attack.

Ask you doctor for antibacterial ointment for your dry irritated blood shot eyes and maybe it will help you too.

I have this, it drives me crazy. I have been thinking for awhile I probably need an antibiotic eye drop.

Was planning on trying a regular eye Dr. through insurance for it. Wonder how that would go--

I was thinking of calling my PCP and telling them I have pink eye...they will call in an RX without having me come in because pink eye is so contagious.

My eyes ARE pink (from irritation and dryness), so I would be telling the truth [Wink]

I had capillaries popping in the whites of my eyes and sharp pains when I looked in another direction, not all the time. This has all gone away with my further recovery.

For some of us, drinking mangosteen juice can stop Lyme eye symptoms.

I tried the ointment and the first day my eyes felt better but then they felt worse so I quit using it. I don;t know if this is an actual infection or if it is residual damage to the tear ducts or something. The theory sounds good but it just doesn't work.

I tried mangosteen juice and goji but it did not help. It tastes so bad it is hard to tolerate. The best thing so far has been hyaluronic acid - which is replacing the collagen. Recently I have rubbed it around my eyes and face and it is very soothing.

I had an ointment for my face that is very drying and that might have gotten into my eyes and caused them to get worse. Stromectol can cause a hemorrhage near the cornea and when I took it last time, that is when my eye got bloody. I don't think I can take stromectol again.

The thing is there are no short cuts around protomyzao. If I don't stick to the diet and 15 grams of fat a day, I go from remission to deterioration very quickly. The eyes are just part of it. My joints started to ache too. The holidays set me back because I had to cook for other people and didn't want it to be as bland as I am used to eating.
