How many here have gotten the flu shot this year? Just curious. Not sure if I should or not.

I never had the flu shot, ever.

The flu is pretty bad here right now in Maryland. I hear both vaccinated and non-vaccinated are getting it this time.

Thx for asking. I am on the fence. I got the flu shot for many years with no adverse affects. One of my children got the shot and got so sick from it. So that was it for her. And for me too.

This year, my kids are sick with the flu. I don't regret not getting them the shot. But I do wonder if I should have gotten it myself. That jury is out til flu season is over.

In the meantime, I continue taking my Vit D3 and loading up on homeopathic remedies like oscillineococcinum or however it's spelled!

Maybe we should have a spelling contest here!

I won't get one, ever. I just posted this on another link:

This is just my personal opinion, theory and pure speculation.

I think vaccines weaken the immune system by disrupting the body's homeostasis, thus allowing people to get sick from whatever they have already previously been exposed to (colds, flu, etc) before the shot.

Once someone gets a shot, the immune system is forced to drop what its doing, and focus on the vaccine, so its safety net may be spread too thin which ultimately allows something to slip in and gain a foothold.

I have never gotten a flu shot. Neither has my 90 year old mom, or my in-laws (70s). Yet, everyone else I know who got a flu shot, got sick.

I won't take the shot. Never have.

My homeopathic pharmacist recommends Influenzinum.

Here's a link from an online store: http://www.homeopathystore.com/products/influenzinum-2012-2013

My first LLMD said to absolutely not get the flu shot...I don't remember why - I was too sick at the time to remember.

never again. Got only one flu shot in my life as I was almost over Lyme. Sent me into hell--small seizures and all of my symptoms came back.

I didn't get a flu shot this year. I started LDN last spring and I am counting on it keeping me well - so far so good. My husband missed a couple of days of LDN while traveling and got very sick with the flu.

I had a few achy days and am not sure if it was a very mild case of the flu or protomxyzoa becoming active after my holiday fat splurge. Anyway I feel ok now.

Last year, I did get a flu shot. I got really sick anyway and did not recover for over a month. My husband was faithfully taking the LDN - he was the first one to start - and he did not get sick even though it swept through the entire family, friends of the family and their families - everyone got it but my husband.

According to Dr. Bihari, who basically discovered LDN's use to simulate the immune system, he never had a cold or the flu after starting LDN. He never had vaccinations either.

don't forget Vitamin D kills the flu virus

You'll do infinitely better against the flu by maintaining healthy vitamin D levels through flu season and beyond, than you will by trying to prime your immune system to produce antibodies against many of the flu's subtypes by injecting mercury and (maybe) some flu antigen into your arm every year...

My husband and I never get the flu shots. Don't want to risk a reaction.

We asked our lyme doctor today for our son and they said absolutely not.

Good links Tammy, Scott, Carol.

IMO, Vit D3 intake has kept me from getting the flu this year (knocking on wood) despite the kids coming down with it and me being their primary caregiver.

One of my children who is taking the optimal dose of LDN and whose D3 levels are good was sacked for a week but rebounded afterwards. Another one, whose D3 levels are still low and who is still titrating up on the LDN was blown out for a full two weeks.

I am a firm believer in D3 and LDN. We don't get flu shots anymore. I always used to get them and never had any adverse effects. Makes me wonder if I just should have continued with the flu shots. Then again when I think about the crap added into them....

But once my daughter had a really bad reaction to the shot, that was it for us.

Several years ago one of my doctors practically forced me to get a flu shot. I did not want to get it. I ended up getting very sick from it, and the arm where I got the shot completely broke out in a rash from the elbow to the shoulder.

The same doctor then told me that I am allergic to it, and I should not get it again! I have since found out I have an immune deficiency. I don't know if this is why I had the problem or not. That was the only time I got a flu shot.

Don't. You MAY end up really regretting it.

Better to avoid contact with the flu virus, as much as possible, thru all the usual methods.
And keep your immmune system up as best you can.
