hi, i haven't posted in a while, i just wanted to share some data.

last year i had two western blots done at quest, both with the same results:
igm positive bands 23, 39
igg negative

several weeks ago i repeated the western blot at igenex, and here are the results:
igm positive bands 23-25, 31, 39, 41
igg positive bands 30, 39, 41, 58, IND: 23-25

i've been treating for several months now, maybe that's the reason for the seroconversion, or perhaps it's because i switched to igenex.

either way, this just shows (once again) that testing is not necessarily reliable.. but that repeating the tests several times could be helpful. (i mean, no doctor can argue with the latest western blot results, right?)

cheers,
k

I hardly had any positive bands at any commercial labs. I had testing done at Igenex and viola....lots of positives, but just a tad shy of CDC positive. I see that a lot. Interesting.

I was negative for all bands for Labcorp except IgG 41 when I was first diagnosed....but I was Igenex positive for IgG and IgM.

A year later, while on antibiotics, I am now CDC positive for IgM through Labcorp. The sensitivity is much higher for Igenex... And now that my body is finally mounting a response against the Lyme, Labcorp is able to pick it up.

Igenex is a much more sensitive test. Also, following abx treatment, more bands will show up.
