Hi All:

I am on Diflucan likely for a month for systemic yeast. I have read to follow-up with natural treatment for 6 months or so. Is there any natural products people rotate that do the trick? Thank you!

OLIVE LEAF EXTRACT before even starting abx (antibiotics) is best. Of course, even once on abx, OLE can be a fabulous help.

It totally prevented any problem with candida the last time I took abx for a 2 month stretch. And, considering my history with candida and abx, this was marvelous. I do think taking OLE for a few days before even starting the abx might have made the most difference.

You may need Diflucan Rx to get it tamed down and then maybe can rely on the OLE. Diflucan can be hard on the liver but it's a primo anti-candida Rx. Still, if OLE can work for you that is safest.

No suggestion ever replaces the need for PROBIOTICS. Just be sure to separate by a couple hours:

ABX

PROBIOTICS

HERBS (or other supplements) with antimicrobial properties

I've not taken Berberine while on antibiobics (abx), however this might also be one to consider.

Candex. Great enzyme-based product. Produces no die off.

Candisol. More effective for my systemic yeast than Candex was. Also, Ketoconazole (rx) was more effective for me than Fluconazole.

The Phytostan I have just started seems to act fast on the sign of yeast in the mouth and airways in particular. I have only been taking it for a few days, yet already feel these have improved and am hopeful that I will be able to continue with the Cowden protocol (despite the alcohol in the tinctures) with its help.

Phytostan is by Integrative Therapeutics.inc and is also recommended on www.treatlyme.com. His store sells it too, but it seems to be quite widely available in the USA.

There are previous posts here about it if you do a search.

Just search Phytostan for someone else and see that it contains Glutamic Acid. For that reason, this could have horrible side effects for those with lyme.

I'll be back with detail that explains why.

NOT advised, IMO - or at least see the cautions so it can be balanced to not be excitatory.

Integrative Therapeutics Phytostan

------------

You asked about Integrative Therapeutics Phytostan

I suggest finding a different formula, one without L-Glutamic acid added. That can be really bad for those with neuro-lyme.

one ingredient that is contraindicated for those with neurolyme:

L-Glutamic Acid HCl 50mg

WHY? See the links explaining why Glutamate can cause so much trouble for those with lyme.

Now, it can be helpful to heal, but I'd suggest a very, VERY tiny amount if other things don't help. You can buy it separately to control the dose. And Magnesium MUST be present in your body to balance the excitatory effect of glutamate / glutamic acid.

DGL should first be tried - just Google together: DGL, licorice

See the Glutamte safety detail here:

Diet is key, but I use garlic oil capsules or oregano oil and no more candida.

Phytostan and glutamic acid?
Drat, I didn't know about that.

Andy from B.C. told me that it helped him after a couple other prescription products failed.
It worked so well that he didn't know why his doctor hadn't told him to try it first!

Carol,

Glad you saw that. You have such stellar suggestions and I felt bad opposing your suggestion there but glutamic acid caused me so much trouble - and injury from seizures. It's a terrible, terrible thing to have in supplements, IMO.

The irritation and anxiety it caused was just torture for me and it took a very long time to figure it out. I always felt like I was just about to have seizure when on it (or anything with it in it) . . . and seizure were much more frequent and much more violent, too.

However, if someone does not have neurolyme or the nerve damage or irriation is not too bad -- or they are balancing it with Magnesium and other things, then

it may be quite fine for them. for anyone with seizures, anxiety, adrenal exhaustion, though, this can be dangerous.

It would be better to have in a straight form so individualized doses could be managed.

Still, with even a tiny bit, I always got seizures from the glutamic acid I tried to address leaky gut. Obviously, I had not yet found the way to cancel this out for my nerve cells.

After finally making the connection, I tested this out probably at least 5 other times, over time. Sure enough, even a tiny bit would light the seizure fuse.

What Lawence Wilson, MD (not an LLMD but does address the issue of glutamate and neurolyme) says in one of the articles in that link set describes precisely my reaction. Wish I had known that beforehand.

In my case, magnesium was not enough to balance it out. Nor were relaxing supplement. This is even in one supplement that is intended to calm and induce sleep and that was also a disaster regarind seizure triggers.

No doubt that glutamic acid / L-Glutamine can be very helpful to heal gut tissue - and far better than many other methods. It's just that it can be dynamite for many.

If that is known beforehand, precautions can be taken, though, and this might be successful.

Explaining much better than I can, Wilson's article is in this set:

Thank you for the warning, Keebler.

I have taken L Glutamine in the past without noticeable problems, so I am hoping that I will be OK with it. There is extra magnesium on the Cowden protocol too, but I will take care,

I think CandiBactin BR by Metagenics is awesome. It has berberine in it, it's a bit of a combination thing.

I have found castor oil packs for the liver and coffee enemas also extremely helpful for this.

Hi All: Up for input.

Does anyone know of this herbalist for riddance of systemic Yeast?

http://www.modernherbalist.com/

I like his approach but I would love to hear some success.

I cannot take Diflucan. And yes, I think it definitely busted some cysts.

Photons tomorrow.

Any help would be appreciated.

For several years my hairdresser was diagnosed with a very bad case of candida. She was not helped by the usual stuff. Recently her doctor put her on ivermectin and she has rapidly improved. I'm assuming that means she had parasites rather than candida.

My practioner uses GSE to address yeast and we have found it to be very effective. Agrisept-L is the brand and I take about 20 drops twice/day just to keep it in check and to address other things. It also hits babesia. You have to start very slowly in case you herx. The standard adult dose she recommends for this product is 10-15 drops twice/day.
