This was a small study but I thought that the findings were rather interesting.

The treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome with T3 thyroid hormone.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16883675

"We report the results of 11 patients who underwent the W T3 protocol for the treatment of CFS. All the patients improved in the five symptoms measured. All patients increased their basal temperature."

The W T3 protocol is aimed at depleting Reverse T3 (RT3) levels in the tissues of the body. And this is accomplished by reducing T4.

T4 is reduced by reducing TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone).

And TSH is reduced by giving patients oral doses of pure T3 directly.

So, if you have chronic fatigue syndrome it may possibly be useful for you to have a FULL thyroid blood panel performed to help determine the functional status of your thyroid.

And that would entail getting your RT3, Free T3, Free T4, T3, T4 and your TSH blood levels checked and determining your RT3 to Free T3 ratio as well.
