I have had an increase in the symptoms, or weakness, or muscle spasms... what ever you want to call it... In the muscles in my face whenever I go out in the frigid cold air.

Has anyone else experienced this? Do you know the reason for it? Ways to prevent it from happening?

I have to go out, I have to shop, and take the kids places a couple times a week. Just curious, if any of you expiernced people have any hints.

Also, it happens more when I am struggling to do something, reach up to put dishes away, carry groceries in the house, anything that is physicaly taxing.

Thanks for any info you can provide,
Laura

Magnesium in very important, as is Vitamin B12 for these kinds of issues...

Yes, This has happened to me as well. Changing position and also changing climate such as going into air conditioning from a warm day.

I realized that I had Bells Palsy of the Gut as well as the noticebale signs on my face.

When you reach for something you are also pulling on some stomach muscles that are affected by the Palsy. Hope this helps explains things.

I also notice that the facial pulling is worse shortly after eating... about the time my food would be entering my intestines. Does this make sense?

Often I find chewing my food physically taxing, and take small breaks as I am sitting at the table.

Also, I have fast moving intestines... I use to think it was due to having gastric bypass surgery. However, when I am on antibiotics... it is the only time I have normal BMs.

And reading a book (about 5min) to my daughter makes speech more difficult to pronunciate, i tend to slur towards the end of the book... I have to work alot harder at speaking.

Laura,

I had Bell's Palsy on the right side. That resolved thankfully.

The left side of my face however feels numb most of the time. It does feel like it's sagging, pulling with any activity.

Any activity always has increased all of my symptoms. I have recently had days that it hasn't happened with activity.

The only changes I have made are treating adrenal insufficiency, armour thyroid for hypothyroidism and bioidentical hormone replacement.

I'm 99% sure treating the adrenal insufficiency is the part that's helping with the facial symptoms.
