My husband just showed me a spot on his bicep that looks like a tiny ringworm spot or E migrans rash that is about the size of a dime or penny. He is being treated for squamous cell skin CA on his nose with a chemotherapy cream.

Wondering if this is a reaction to his body fighting - or actually could be something related to parasites/fungus. There is no scaling and it does not itch.

I told him to bulk up on his coconut oil and even rub some into it. Any ideas? I should have taken a picture and posted. He just left for work.

Doesn't sound like ringworm as it would be itchy. He could try some lotrimin cream on it for a day or two and see if it helps. Hate to make this comparison, but I recently brought my dog to the vet due to circular spots which I was worried was ring worm and in the end the vet said he had most likely rubbed up against something irritating go the skin. It did need an antibiotic like keflex to quiet it down as he had numerous areas.

If no better n a day or two or other areas appear I would have him see his doctor. I wouldn't think it has any relation to the chemo cream being applied in a different area. With his history of squamous cell CA may be bet to run it by his doctor.

Thanks, Ellen. Yes - I would encourage him to tell his doc about it if no improvement or getting worse. I feel like I have seen some photos on this site of similar lesions and was hoping someone could refresh my memory...

I will pick some lotrimin up today just to be safe, but I don't think it is ringworm because it is not scaly and not itchy. He was out in the yard yesterday doing some clean up from the tree damage caused by the blizard a few weeks ago. We did a tick check and he was totally covered but you can never be sure!

Many years ago I had something that looked like ringworm (size of a dime, or penny) but it didn't itch. It had the same edges as ringworm (scaley and pink). I think it was some sort of fungus. My doc gave me some cream for it. It eventually went away, but I'm not sure the cream did it, or it just went away on its own.

at the beginning of her illness my daughter had similar rash, several on her shins. they did eventually go away (but have left scars). i wish i had taken pictures, so i recommend that. maybe bartonella, but have also wondered about em rash. she has candida too, so possibly fungus. most definitely related to TBDs in her case
