I know Doxy is horrible for the sun, but what about Bactrim DS? I go to south beach in 2 weeks and I wonder if I should take it while there, or when I should stop taking it before I go. Has anyone had any experience with this?

I have been on Bactrim DS for a year. I had no issues with sun last summers.

I would not worry

have fun

Sun is not a problem on Bactrim. It is a totally different med from doxy. I took it all through the summer with no problem. Doxy was a big problem.

Read the package insert and you will see that this is not mentioned as an issue with Bactrim.

My Bactrim DS bottle has a label warning against prolonged sun exposure. I have gotten a slight burn on my face by spending time out side on these days the last month where there was direct sun (I would not have normally).

It is NOTHING like doxy, though.
