I recently began adding coconut milk to my diet .. just to make a nice smoothie. Well, it may be the reason my overall inflammation is worse. I'm wondering.

http://www.cornucopia.org/carrageenan-2013/

This is in most almond milk, soy milk, and coconut milk.

If your overall inflammation is worse, there are a number of things you can do to reduce it.

Systemic enzymes have done the most for me.

What kind of systemic enzymes do you recommend?
Thanks!

If you are interested in the blood type diet, coconut is inflammatory to certain blood types. I reduced a lot of inflammation going on their latest version the Geno type diet 18 months ago.

Basically, there are certain foods for each blood type that boost the immune system and a list of food items that are inflammatory for certain blood types. Saved me a lot of pain and helped my Lyme treatment.

Faithful, where did you get info on the blood type diet?

http://www.dadamo.com/program.htm

If you read further down this page, it will speak about the "swami" software. You buy it once and then all updates are free. It allows you to put in your health issues and will then further tweak the program to fit what you need.

Both my husband and I have done swami and our health has improved from doing it. A year ago, I could only eat three things, and this year, I have been able to add much more variety to my diet. It has truly saved us.

What does it say for type B? (coconut?)

I can't take the enzymes. They eat my stomach lining.

Found this on the link above:

"Type B-Type B's have a strong immune system and a tolerant digestive system and tend to resist many of the severe chronic degenerative illnesses, or at least survive them better than the other blood types. Type B's do best with moderate physical exercise requiring mental balance, such as hiking, cycling, tennis, and swimming."

I am taking Wobenzym N, a blend of enzymes, but there are other blends available.
One guy told me that Serrapeptase helped his symptoms, but only after he increased the dose.

If you've never taken systemic enzymes before, you should read up about them.
Here is one site, check the links across the top and down the side:

About Systemic Enzymes
http://www.systemicenzymesupport.org/ses/index.htm

The enzyme tablets have a coating that can withstand the acids in the stomach, which is important since acids can damage the enzymes.

Once the tablets have passed into the intestines, they dissolve and the enzymes are absorbed by the intestine.
This process is most effective if the tablets are taken away from meals (45 minutes before meals or 1 hour after meals).

You can google for information, just add whatever condition you have to the search.
From what I can see, most of the research has been done in Europe, where doctors frequently prescribe high doses, like 30 tablets daily, to "force the therapeutic response."

I've taken as many as twenty tablets in one dose, with very good results....less body and joint pain, and fewer headaches.
Ugh, but who can afford to keep that up.

I've been taking twelve tablets daily, in one dose.
I also take fish oil, with 2000 mg of EPA daily.
This combination is doing something to reduce the inflammation...when I stop, the body pain and headaches increase again to an intolerable level.

The magnesium deficit caused by the Lyme bacteria and the inflammation caused by the infection (Lyme Disease) causes many of our disease conditions, like atherosclerosis, heart disease, arthritic problems.

Heart attacks and strokes result from clotting problems due to too much fibrin in the bloodstream, which is an immune response to a bodywide infection (Lyme).

Systemic enzymes reduce the excess fibrin in the blood and reduce inflammation, which should reduce your chance of heart attack and stroke.

When you supplement magnesium, the body no longer needs to draw calcium out of the bones for the enzyme processes in the cells.

The excess calcium solidifies in the blood vessels, causing "hardening of the arteries" and calcifies the heart valves.
This last feature was seen in the 5000 year old mummy that was found in the Tyrolean Alps.
(They also found DNA of the Lyme bacteria in his body.)

tutu - I get terrible inflammation from sulfur containing foods and meds and coconut is high in sulfur.

It is one of the genetic issues I had tested via Dr. Yasko. You might consider whether you have issues with sulfur.

The Geno type diet has several profiles for a blood type B, but coconut milk is an avoid for most type B's.

My husband is type B and his profile is a Nomad. Chicken is inflammatory for him. Turkey is okay and red meat is okay only 4 times a week.

Each profile is different. For the most part Blood type A's are vegetarian but my profile isn't. My profile is called a Teacher. Once you add physical characteristics and your health profile it changes things.

I have to eat meat but red meat is not on my list. If I eat it it is to be only occasionally. Type A's have low stomach acid and have to use hydrochloric acid along with digestive enzymes to process food.

Very interesting. Coconut milk has caused me major stomach issues over the years. Never knew why. I'm truly wondering about this sulfur issue more and more.

Thank You Carol in PA! Great information, especially since I have a family history of "plaque-related diseases".

I currently take 4 Wobenzyme daily and occasionally other systemic enzymes like lymbrokinase. You take twelve a day? Doesn't that make your blood too thin? I could easily up my dose but isn't it better to spread it out instead of taking so much at once? It certainly makes it easier to take it all at one time!

UGH - I'm drinking coconut milk - are there any safe brands?

Treating parasites is paramount. They love your insides. Leaky Gut anyone? It is one of the most important treatments with any chronic patients - per Dr. K.
He repeated this relentlessly at the recent seminar for doctors that I had a chance to attend last weekend. I remember he first published this type of statement back ten years ago in "Lyme Disease: A Look Beyond Antibiotics."

Take care.

I did notice when I increased my dose past 15 daily that scratches bled for a longer time, so I just decreased the dose.

I take it all at the same time because if I didn't, I wouldn't ever get around to the second and third doses.
When I get hungry, my blood sugar goes down and I get irritable.

My Five Hour Glucose Tolerance Test showed that my blood sugar goes dangerously low.
When I'm hungry, I want to be able to eat.

That leaves us with Rice Dream Milk which has no carrageenan but recent reports say Rice from the U.S with the exception of California is loaded with arsenic. Hell we are all going to die!!

Not to mention the rice is probably GMO.

I didn't realize carrageenan was in baby formula, too...

WHAT DO YOU DO??? REALLY !!!!!

Everytime you try something , hear something helping ,it doesn't take long before info comes out that you're actually hurting yoursel.

I'm supposed to be allergic to sulfa med, yet I'm on Bactrim...for some reason it doesn't bother as many people.

Told sulfur in foods is not the same.....eat away.

What are sulfa foods.....is garlic one?

Isn't that supposed to help? Like Acillin or Kaloric SP?

Sorry, not a good day and I just want to know wht to do..

I better get over to general for help..
