Has anyone ever tried this?

Never tried that one!! There are some essential oils that repel insects.

My vet mentioned it's great to repel fleas and ticks on dogs?

Mosquitoes too!

Funny you should mention that. I just saw one of the residents in my area coming from a trail leading into the mountains and woods. In fact it is where my other neighbor got bit after discarding his yard debris in.

I asked her if she knew about the tick problem and I could not believe she or her black and wooly dog did not get bit as of yet. She said she has been hiking this trail for over 30 years and when she gets home she checks and washes herself in alcohol.

I just saw a 6 year old get bit this weekend and she was only in her short and front grass. A few yards from the trial a man got a tick on his back this week and found it before it bit him.

I just don't get how this lady could have gone on for this long without getting bit? Maybe it is her alcohol rubbing that prevented it? I have 7 family members who got bit on the same block, and in the back or front yard no less.

Makes you wonder. I find this person really interesting and I plan on interrogating her again.

"and I plan on interrogating her again"

Spoken like a true New Yorker!

Interesting that your hiking neighbor washes herself in alcohol! After hiking a trail for 30 years with no bites or symptoms, she's doing something right. Or maybe she just has good genes.

Not sure about the Listerine, but....

I use to use alcohol for various things, then I learned that it provides an ideal breeding ground for parasites in the body (per Hulda Clark). Now I only use it for injections and occassional would cleaning.

Interesting! Maybe it's the eucalyptol and thymol, and maybe the alcohol too.

Lymedin, they probably have it but just don't know it yet. I had it for over 40 years before I got a clue that something was wrong. It grows so slowly.

Yes, there's no guarantee that woman does not have Lyme.

True, she could have it. She is a skinny thing & she "looks" like she has it. So I am gonna do ma New Yawk thang and interrogate her! [Big Grin]

I have a feeling she found some ticks on her, but she was not totally honest with me. Heck, I am going to ask her for a blood sample and I am going to look under the microscope.

I spoke to my father this week & we spoke about why he never got sick. He was always in upstate NY hunting and fishing. He killed and handled deer meat with his bare hands. He even got bit as a child in his country.

He agreed with me that it must be the alcohol. He loads up well on occasions with the old school thinking that it kills infections. My mother got bit 2-3 times & no major illness, just this year swelling of the knees (fluid build up) & arthritis.

Why does she only have this symptom? She is older than me. Smokes daily, drinks espresso, & loads up on booze every now & then. I am not talking about Budweiser, but the good & heavy hitting stuff.

I rarely drink & when I did it was beer, champagne or wine. Another member of the family who visits this area just got sick with Lyme like symptoms. Guess what? She does not drink either. We both lived this health free lifestyle, but look at us.

I think alcohol consumption, at least early on in the Lyme stage, kills off some of the co-infections or parasites. Leaving the body with less foreign substances to contend with & allows for longer periods before infection.

I have a strong gravitation toward this believe & I am so tempted to drop the ABX & just start drinking. Maybe what people describe as extreme Lyme symptoms after alcohol consumption is really a super strong herx?

.....damn I can write....signing off.
