Muscle spams galore from my cervical neck. Called neck surgeon who said to get the prednisone refilled and to take the muscle relaxer.

Muscle relaxer made me so sleepy and groggy and tingly.

Even my cheek is throbbing with a pulse.

I can't function like this. I am a teacher and need to function tomorrow.

At my wits end and need some help. [confused]

Has this ever happened before? What helped then?

Is your head kinda stuck leaning towards your neck (this is called torticollis)?

How long has the pain and stiffness been going on?

I would try applying either heat or ice. For this particular situation where you want to relax the muscles, I think I would try using a warm compress first.

A massage therapist or chiropractor could help you if you can find one open today.

IF yo have lyme, steroids like prednisone are usually not recommended.

Have you tried magnesium and zinc. I get some spasms or tics in my legs and this really helps.

Perhaps a chiropractor can help. Sometimes I just have to take a day off of teaching, too.

Hi all. No stiffness or neck bing stuck in a certain way.

Dr. Said neck spasms related to herniated disc.

Lyme gone. Llmd said go ahead with steroids.

I have two discs in my cervical area.

My neck was great and now this. Maybe it's time for nerve block.

Seeing pt weekly.

Did a couple of epidurals for this. Lots of pt.

Do traction on a home machine about 4 days a week now and everyday when I feel a bulge is bulging more.

I also have found that a heating pad and/or biofreeze (I have one that rolls the gel kind of like a rolling deordorant would).

My doc said that some parasitez like the brainstem and neck area, so they fight hard to stay there or to move to the neuro hangouts.

Hope you get some relief.

IMO, lyme is never "gone enough" for steroids. Other infections that may latent could come back in full force, too.

Have you tried cranial therapy? That helps relax tight muscles.

I totally agree.

Try Gua Sha (it's awesome).
