Starting Bixian today..

What were your experiences..

It gives me a metallic type taste in my mouth. For me, salty things help. I have read that if you like root beer that it helps it. Lastly, it has been suggested to me that using the long acting one tends not to give the altered taste as the regular.

Hope you find that it is helpful!

I've been taking Biaxin twice a day since about Feb or March, along with my other antibiotics. I really haven't noticed anything different since adding the Biaxin.

I did not stay on it but switched to IV. My stomach is a mess. But I have read and know people who say it helps them a lot. One woman got up out of her wheel chair by taking Biaxin and Plaquenil.

We are all so different in how we react that it is hard to predict.

Biaxin is one of my favorites. I herxed severely and has some anxiety when I first started it but now I think it's one that has definitely prevented further progression for me.

It gave me anorexia (couldn't eat), insomnia, and anxiety.

After 3 days on it, I could not bring myself to eat even one spoonful of food all day long and I could not sleep a wink at night.

When I informed my doctor, he laughed and took me off of the Biaxin. He said it was the Biaxin causing all of this. So, as you can see, everyone is different.

Just know that if anything strange starts happening, it may be your personal reaction to the Biaxin. For most people, nothing like this happens!

"Psychiatric side effects have included anxiety, behavioral changes, confusional states, depersonalization, disorientation, hallucinations, insomnia, depression, manic behavior, nightmares, and psychosis during postmarketing experience. These effects usually resolved after discontinuation of clarithromycin (the active ingredient contained in Biaxin)"

Biaxin was very helpful for me. One of my staples. For me, low side effects. No GI problems. Metallic taste? Probably. I don't usually pay much attention to that.

I have to take it during my meal. But I have a wrecked stomach.

It also leaves a strong medicine taste in your mouth for a few hours after taking. Drink a full glass of wAter after taking helps.

I did herx with it but it did improve my joint pains.

Biaxin was great for me. Can make you feel really buzzed up, so I took my dose in the am. If I took it later in the day I could not sleep. Yes, watch out for the metallic taste in mouth,

LIVER & KIDNEY SUPPORT & and several HERXHEIMER support links, too.
