Anyone use this type of supplement? If so, what were your experiences? Muscle testing showed my adrenals are in awful shape (no surprise) and the dr. suggested I use this.

A long time ago I took dessicated adrenal supplement and it made me feel wired and stopped.

I brought results of my recent adrenal saliva test to my chiropractor/nutritionist and she has me started on Metagenics adrenal supp two days ago.

She wants me to take just one pill in morning rather than three times a day as stated on the bottle to avoid my past experience.

Hope others can tell of good experience?

Other than desiccated thyroid in NatureThroid,. which I do very well with . . .

I tried several times, years ago, and always felt terrible with any adrenal glandulars (desiccated animal organ) - even if a very tiny amount. I have read many posts here of others detailing the same experience.

The adrenal support herbs and some other nutritional supplements like B5 are excellent for me, however. Be VERY careful to be sure that any adrenal formula or blend does not also contain any glandulars -- until you have at least tried other ways.

Later you might try, though it's sure not where I think anyone should begin. If try glandulars later, buy the smallest bottle or ask for to buy a week's supply or get a sample pack. And take WITH FOOD, in the middle of meal to help the stomach accept it better.

If you have not yet used the herbs and nutrients, that is where I would begin - not with any glandular. If the nutrient support is not enough, there is also Cortef to consider but FIRST go for

ASHWAGANDHA, ELEUTHERO, RHODIOLA . . . detailed in followed links set.

Be sure to get Wilson's Adrenal book, posted here and read as many educational articles as possible. Then discuss with your LLMD:

Yes! It works!

I just bought 250mg caps and it is waaaayyyyy too much. I think I used to take 50mg. I'm going to open the capsules and cut my dose back.

I can only take it in the a.m. or I won't sleep. If I take too much, I get reflux. Cortef did that to me, too.

My adrenal problem is actually in my brain, in the HPA axis. When I have good brain days, my adrenals and energy are perfect. Ribose and Phosphatidylserine have been the best supps for HPA axis.

I'm trying the glandular as a stop-gap, to make it through my afternoon crash while treatment continues.

I don't know if I'll stick with it. I much prefer NADH and NT Factor Energy, which solve deficiencies to support mitochondria. And the energy I get front those supps is much better. More normal, less wired.

Oh, I forgot. I also wanted to see if it would control inflammation during my afternoon crash, which has been a huge problem. I know my cortisol tanks at this time.

I'll have to let you know as I just started it.
