After months of waiting, I finally got to see my favorite LLMD who is treating my DH and DDs.

I was prescribed Interfase Plus and Energetix's Drainage-Tone homeopathic remedy to take with boluoke (which I had already been taking).

A couple of hours later, I started having stomach pains (seemed to radiate).

I was suspecting that it was the interfase plus, since it had ingredients similar to Candizyme, which I had taken in the past and had a similar reaction.

But when I contacted my LLMD, they said to stop the Drainage-Tone drops instead.

Anyone have experience with Energetix Drainage-Tone or if this could be the culprit?

Thanks!

The Drainage Tone drops contain alcohol, which is known to cause burning.

But if you know you have similar reaction to other enzyme products, then that may be the real culprit...

If it were me, I'd go with my gut instinct on what's causing the problem and see if avoiding the Interfase Plus makes the problem go away...

I agree Razzle - I'm a bit uncomfortable taking another interfase plus tomorrow (I skipped the second dose tonight to get a chance to recuperate).

Fortunately, the pains were not severe - just really, really uncomfortable. So I'll just bite the bullet and try one more time.

But if it happens again, I'll stop the interfase and go back to the drainage-tone just to see what happens.

FWIW, I generally don't have any problems with alcohol.

Curious to know why the enzymes might be so disagreeable to me. Could it be because I'm lactose intolerant? (But I didn't see any lactase on the ingredients list - I think that's why I get diarrhea if I take lactaid pills - stopped taking it years ago...)

Isn't Interfase a blend of systemic enzymes?
How large a dose are you taking?

One of the blends cause digestive discomfort for me.
I had to restart with one tablet and ramp up slowly.

Proteases taken in a stomach that is inflamed can cause pain (personal experience). Interfase has proteases in it.

I could not tolerate Interfase Plus. I think it has albumin from egg whites, or something like that.

I am very allergic to eggs. This was not a good product for me.

I do fine with other systemic enzymes.

Carol - was just taking 1 capsule.

I went ahead and took one capsule this morning, this time with a full stomach.

Gotta love being a guinea pig.

Will check in later...

Well, so I spent the afternoon curled up in pain on my couch today. Took another Interfase Plus this morning.

Oh well. Contacted llmd and was told it was ok to stop the interfase. Also recommended 1/8 tsp phosphatidylserine powder if the pain didn't go away quickly enough.

But by the time I heard back from LLMD, the pain was mostly gone (and it would have taken 24 hours to get the phosphatidylserine powder anyway...).

Hoping tomorrow will be better!

I had a horrible reaction to Interfase plus, IMO it's just too strong for my Lyme and coinfections.

My doc prescribed it to me to break up biofilms.

My new doc has me take Bromezyme and I've had no problems with it.

I was also prescribed Similase GFCF for enzymes.

Both these helped and I seem to be doing better with the new docs protocol.

Good luck!
