I had port insertion today. Later when I checked the site I can see a blanched edge around the bruising. It is mild.

It looks similar to a white ring I usually get around any insect bite.

Any idea what this is?

I don't have a fever.

Inflammatory reaction to trauma of the port insertion. I've gotten this from various skin injuries.
