So last month I went off 3/6 abx and started a low fat vegan diet (along with continuing to not eat gluten or sugar) and systemic enzymes at the suggestion of a consulting LLMD.

I have not lost further weight, but my BMI was underweight at 17.2 to start. My last chem panel showed elevated ALT, AST, bilirubin, anion gap and slightly low potassium all of which I've had problems with in the past so it could be from either stopping meds or the new diet/enzymes.

I don't feel well at all, but things were not much better before the diet. My doctor mentioned that it's possible that I may be getting malnourished fairly severely. I do have many of the physical
symptoms that people with eating disorders get but I eat a LOT and I haven't restricted calories.

I'm so hungry lately that it's unbelievable how much I can eat but I'm aso required to be fairly active during the day so I probably need close to 2000 calories which is tough to get from veggies, rice cereals, fruits and oats. Restricting dairy, meat, fat, sugar AND gluten is very difficult.

What should I do? Hold out on the diet or try something else? I've already tried many things so I was really hopeful about this biofilm protocol.

It is my understanding that the physician that recommends the low fat vegan diet does not do so for people who are underweight. That may be the reason you do not feel well.

Can't tell you what to do, but I don't think I would stick with the diet.

Your brains needs fats for it to function.

I understand you want to do the biofilm diet, continue with the enzymes that already helps with the biofilm.

Get the healthy fats from nuts, olive oil, avacado.

Get protein from chicken and fish. You can't be malnutrioned with this disease.

I went through the road where I wasn't eating and was losing weight fast, that got me really sick.

I think you should be less restrictive. your body needs more calories and fat. add back a little cheese and some complex carbs. also eat lots of olive oil and nuts. i really beleive a balanced diet with mant fruits and veggies is important -- just my opinion. a strict diet has never worked for me

I did that diet too. My LLMD told me to stop because by blood work said I was starving. I was also underweight.

I am still gluten and sugar free though. Did figure out the my offending food was chicken (of all things right?).

My weight is better now, I'm on the low end of normal. I did feel better on the diet at the time, but I was so freaking hungry. I would daydream about sausage and bacon [Smile]
