Sorry, it does not work that way. You'd want to study myelin in relation to lyme.

First, I know that one researcher suggests severely limiting fats (and magnesium) in an attempt to "dismantle" biofilm of the FL 1953 ("Fry Bug"). Some very good research on this.

Still, in part, I disagree with limiting too severely key nutrients in that biofilm for various infections is very complex and there are many ways to address that.

Severely limiting any nutrient so important to cells as both good dietary fats and magnesium can starve our cells and lead to many problems. This issue is very complex so I'll not try to figure it all out here. Just know that there are difference of opinion on this.

I'll just say that selective fats are vital, in the right amount. That can vary from person to person for a variety of reasons. Just don't starve your cells. Read and study what all researchers have to say.

One size does not fit all.

Back to lyme and myelin.

Lyme can destroy the myelin sheath around the nerve fibers, regardless of how one's body stores adipose tissue (fat).

Just because one might carry more weight (which is often inflammation fluids as much as adipose tissue) does not mean that person will have nerve protection.

Certain nutritional fats can help protect myelin however, the assaulting infections must also be addressed.

Sleep can help restore myelin, too. Just this week had an article about that.

Scientists believe they have discovered a new reason why we need to sleep - it replenishes a type of brain cell.

Sleep ramps up the production of cells that go on to make an insulating material known as myelin which protects our brain's circuitry.

The findings, so far in mice, could lead to insights about sleep's role in brain repair and growth as well as the disease MS, says the Wisconsin team.

The work is in the Journal of Neuroscience.

Dr Chiara Cirelli and colleagues from the University of Wisconsin found that the production rate of the myelin making cells, immature oligodendrocytes, doubled as mice slept.

My note: for most of us here we know that "MS" can often be undiagnosed / untreated lyme, other tick-borne or stealth infections.

We also know that one aspect of lyme is severe sleep disruption. This all comes together.

I've not read the original report discussed in the article above but the question to consider would be

are the researchers seeing sleep as the key when it goes deeper into the sleep disruption in "MS" that may be due to lyme,

It may not be as simple as they think, still, it's so very true that the better sleep we can get, the better chance as success over any chronic infection. And if that can help myelin sheath, all the better.
