Cons I'm on it right now pulsing 3 weeks on. 1 week off. for 5 cycles. I am having a hard time tolerating this extreme nausea, fatigue.

I took oral clinda, 150mg 2x/day for 5 years for Lyme disease, not babesia. I did fine with it. And never any C diff.

I wish you luck. I'm watching this thread due to a suspicion. My dog, had a near death ailment 6 years ago. He had a fever on a Tuesday fine on Wednesday, etc.. Til On Friday he was totally lame and in pain. They never found a cause (after $3500 of testing) he had been on doxy since day one, but they added the canine version of clindi called antirobe. Also sent us home with prednisone in case he didn't respond in a week. But he did. And now he is almost 7 and is fine.
I just have this suspicion that it may help me. But llmd didn't think much of the connection. For my dog it was to go after Protozoa.

You guys are awesome. One of my pain reasons for wanting to switch to clinda is I hear it is great for babesia but it has wayyyyyyyy less interactions between medications. Biaxin has a ton of interactions, hence why I am looking to make the switch.

Of all the antibiotics I tried, clindamycin was by far the best for me. I started on a small does and pulsed it. Be sure and take a good probiotic and do not lie down for a hour after you take clinda
I am planning on starting it again soon. Not sure why but clindy is almost like taking a sleeping pill for me. I can actually sleep when taking it.
Been on and off for a few yrs my regret is I didn't stay on it longer..

The reason I switched was doxy did a number on my stomach and esoph.

I did IV Clindamycin for a little over a year. It made a big difference. No bad side effects at all. Now in remission.

I too have done IV Clindamycin, on and off for four years. I'm on it right now, two weeks on, two weeks off. It's been the best drug for me and hits babesia, lyme and mycoplasma and lots of other bugs.

I couldn't tolerate clindamycin due to a bad bumpy itchy rash I got all over in patches, and had to be switched to zithromax. Zithro is a lot more expensive, but I think it's working better, due to the herxing I've been doing since I started it.

those of you that got rashes or reaction to Clynamyycin ever try name brand?
I could not take generic....only got to try name brand a few days as they only had 75mg pills of it at the time...that's like 14-16 pills each time......
I keep wanting to try it.
I found out my mail order pharmacy has other mg's...
Doctor hates mail order company.......what to do?

Your doctor will write a script for mail order. She just doesn't want to call it in because they are a royal pain. You can mail it in.

Clindamycin was too difficult for me to handle. I was taking that and Bactrim and literally thought I would lose my mind.
I had to discontinue it's use because I have to function somewhat as I have 2 young children (6 & 2). But for others, it's a miracle drug from what I've read.
I switched to Doryx (form of doxycycline) with the Bactrim and am doing much better, although I definitely still feel all the nasty side effects, just at a more tolerable level.

I did IV Clindy once a day for 6 months and then went to twice a day. I took orals that rotated with that.
