I have a whole shoebox full of old abx's and meds. They aren't really that old. Some are only out of date by 6 months or a year. I feel terrible to throw them out when so many people are without meds and insurance. ****
Nevertheless, I have wayyyy to much clutter and can't keep holding on to everything....

You can offer the supplements here for others IF you are giving them away, but you cannot offer prescription meds. It is illegal to sell or send prescrition meds to others.

If meds have prescription labels some Aids support groups will collect them and send them to foreign countries. I used to have an address but never used it.
If the meds are still in date it is possible that a free clinic may be able to take them.

I had the same problem and ended up jus throwing them away. Was a shame cause I had some that I knew people could use.
My problem is drs prescribe stuff and I cant take it. So after only a couple of pills I have to throw it out.

Old Rx meds should be turned into a hospital where they can be disposed of properly. They should not go down the toilet or to the land fill. They are polluting to the land and the waters. At the hospital they will be sent for ultra high temp incineration.

Also, most local law enforcement agencies hold an annual 'bring your old medications in' day
where you can drop off your old prescriptions and they will be disposed of properly as well.
I would personally not give out supplement unless it was sealed new, unfortunately you could be held liable for any side effect, I'm thinking.

I think it can be returned to a pharmacy for proper disposal if it is in original containers.
Yes, I feel the same way. I have a fridge drawer full.
And the abx for lyme aren't always effective against bladder infections, strep. Which are the infections I get commonly, so I can't even self treat those. (which is probably not a good idea anyways).
All I know, is if a close friend or relative gets bit by a tick, I can donate my extras if they get piddly doses or only a 2 week supply.
Illegal maybe but moral yes.
And I am also frustrated at these half done bottles. What a waste.
I will look up the aid groups to see if they accept abx.

i wonder if they could prescribe just a couple of pills to see if you can tolerate it and then fill the rest.
would certainly save us and the pharma companies alot of money.

LymeToo -- It actually depends on the state. Some states such as New York and I think South Carolina will not fill a partial prescription -- will only fill the entire prescription as written.
In Virginia and North Carolina you can ask for just a few pills (partial prescription) and then get the rest of the prescription at a later date.
