Can anyone recommend a good supplement to help support the adrenals?

Pretty sure mine are shot.

herbpharm eleuthero which runs around $12 or so at raisin rack or whole foods.

Also, orthomolecular adrenall works well too, but it has the eleuthero in it and is more expensive.

It's really best to know if you have high or low cortisol levels. If testing is out of the question, then stick to adaptagens.

Ortho Adren-all contains licorice root which is used for increasing cortisol levels.

Here is a good article that will help you:

New Chapter has a nice formula with only adaptagens:

Eleuthero, rhodiola, ashwgandha.

Licorice root also, if you have low blood pressure.

**Keep an eye on your blood pressure if you take licorice, because it will raise it. If it gets too high, go off of it for a few days, and then start again at a lower dosage.

Be careful to "do" licorice root primarily earlier in the day -- and it's best combined with other things. Alone, it can be a bit too stimulating for some of us.

Same with rhodiola. Alone, not past mid-afternoon until see how it works for you. Also "plays best with others."

Cortisol Manager helps me (1 at night), but my cortisol is high throughout the day and night.

It's important to know your cortisol levels because I could have sworn that mine were low and that I needed Cortef.

Nope, the levels were high during all 4 points on the saliva test.

Isn't it hard to find a mainstream md who believes in adrenal fatigue?

I have heard they don't really recognize it until the adrenals become exhausted and a dx of Addison's Disease.

No alternative doctors around here, so I just figured I'd have to work on this by myself.
