I am just starting mino and cefdinir twice a day and wondering if I can take them together at same time of day? It seems like a lot but seems like I have to so I can take my probiotics and other supplements at other times.

I am also on diflucan. Any ideas on if I can take that with abx or need to wait a couple hours like probiotics. I am going to call my llmd but she will take forever to get back to me and am probably going to switch.

Any scheduling tips are appreciated!

The mino should be taken away from food on an empty stomach for best absorption.

It needs to be taken 2 hours away from probiotics or any good-bacteria food, kefir, yogurt etc.

I don't know the specifics for your other meds. Hopefully others will chime in soon.

A pharmacist will know if you should take the others with food, together, separate etc.

Best,
Greta

I haven't been on those, so I'm not sure on scheduling.

I have been using a phone app called RxMindme, and it helps with remembering when to take what. You can basically set little alarms for each of your meds, and then check them off when you take them.

For symptom tracking, I use another one called Symple.

Technology can be really helpful sometimes [Smile]

I think most of us take pretty much all the abx with food. The load I'm taking would be awful on an empty stomach.

The caveat with that is to not have much calcium with the abx. Most are chemically acids of one kind or another, and taking them with a base (calcium, magnesium) produces a salt that does no good killing bacteria.

So little or no dairy (calcium), and no magnesium supplements for breakfast or supper. Take all you want at lunch, or at least a couple hours away from the abx.

If you're taking supplements for biofilms like serrapeptase, cats-claw, nattokinase, or banderol, make sure to take them on an empty stomach. They make my stomach gurgle, but don't bother it. The problem with these is that when taken with food they become enzymes that help break down the food, not something in the bloodstream breaking down biofilms. These make very pricey digestion aids.

Needless to say, you probably want to take pro-biotics away from the anti-biotics. Dr Burrascano says to take them at the same time if you must, it's better than not taking the pro-biotics. But it's better still to take them apart - I take them with lunch.
