I'm seeing the ENT tomorrow for my dizziness/ear infection.... His questionnaire asks if you've been treated for Lyme... Is this good? Or am I going to be read the riot act on abx?

Good Question!

I think it will be a riot act on ototoxicity.

The only reason I think that is because of the wording in the question.

"Have you been treated for lyme."

Not

Have you ever been tested for lyme

Have you been diagnosed with lyme

Treated implies "Tested, diagnosed and cured."

Oh awesome! Is it that easy?!

I think your right Greta. Good news is that I had this once before, long before Dx and long term abx.

It was part of several check the boxes... That included many Dx and diseases.

I saw a gastro Doc (one time visit) earlier this year, the questionnaire asked 'have you ever had Syphlis?'

Which I thought was an odd question to ask in 2013.
I put 'No, but have had Lyme disease'

Since they are sister diseases... relevant I thought?
No, just like other Dr.s, I get a few polite questions, but they don't want to touch it with a 10 foot pole.

They know nothing about Lyme disease. I politely back give correct information, hoping it could help someone in the future, then move on.

With the ENT, they are going to ask if your issues came about with antibiotic treatment...since that's a possible side affect of some, right?

Maybe they know that Lyme affects the ears and dizziness.

No questions. No riot act. Thought it was a mild bppv. My ears look fine now. Of course I was not dizzy when I went. But have another appt for the diagnostics and epley maneuver on Friday if I get dizzy again.

Lyme can present as a ton of inner ear disorders, so it would definitely be important to disclose the fact that you have/had lyme. Good Luck [Smile]
