I'm assuming this is a herx. I'm in hell. Doing lemon water, chewing parsely, alka seltzer gold. My mind is so not me. Laid off zithro as per llmd. Have bicillin, septra and plaquenil left to go today. I emailed llmd to see if I should take break. Menopausal. Prayers please if u can. Good health.

LIP-hang in there! Bart herxes are hell!

Mine lasted 10 days straight and I thought I would not ever come out of it!

I had a migraine for 10 straight days and my level of irritation with everything was at the highest it has ever been.

My thinking was not rational, and I had conversations in my mind over and over about telling my loved ones I wanted them out of my life.

I tossed and turned all night. Insomnia mixed with violent dreams.

I had a scowl on my face. Driving in traffic was infuriating.

I had the "Pharmacy Incident".

Which is the closest I have ever come to being arrested or being beat up by my neighbourhood junkies.

I contemplated increasing lyme awareness by doing some pretty extreme, radical things.

It was terrible for those ten days.
I never thought I would climb out of that pit.

hang in there. You're doing everything right! It will pass. Stopping zith for a while is a sound idea.

PM me if you feel like you're losing it.

HI,
You know I am there with you but I have never been able to tell if I was herxing (which implies die-off and eventual progress) or just progression. Right now it feels like that latter as I am off abx and just on Buhner.

I wanted to tell you though that I have had some good luck clearing a bit of DP with IV glutathione, as many times per week as possible. I have a port in now so can do it myself. But I do know now that for myself, some of the DP/head stuff was due to abx toxicity.

I am having one myself right now - sore calf muscles, migraines, nightmares, insomnia, irritation, heart palpitations, rib pain, incredibly sensitive to the touch on my upper arms and upper legs, sensitive hearing, exhausted.

It's been a long 8 days. I am on zith, mino, rifampin, plaquenil. I have been on the rifampin for 6 or 7 weeks, and it seems to have really kicked in recently.

I feel for you! If there is any comfort in knowing that you are not alone (especially in the anxiety parts), please take comfort.

Sending you a very gentle hug!

Rera-sounds like you're on a great protocol for bart!

Buhner says you won't herx from Bart die off because Bart is very small and doesn't produce a lot of endo-toxins (paraphrasing).

I will say, in my experience I've often agrivated Bartonella (which spiked symptoms) using certain drugs/herbs & I use to mistake that for a herx.
The times I've taken Rifampin or Houttuynia I do not herx... I feel dramatically better and often very quickly (sometimes within hours).

Lyme herxes are obvious for me... they are delayed and hit me on day 4 like clockwork (though I don't get these anymore)

Also.. how do we know we're not hitting Mycoplasma?

Just some thoughts.

I herxed majorly with bartonella. When I started levaquin it was like opening a damn of emotion. That was the day the pilot landed his airplane on the Hudson River in NY. I was watching it on the news and collapsed on the floor hysterical.

Bartonella made me so depersonalized I didn't give a hoot about anything. There I was in a heap on the floor completely overwhelmed with emotion.

Now I think I am re-infected with it again. I can't get abx to treat it so I am taking HH2. Today I raised my dose to 4 of them twice a day. I got stomach cramps and had to lay down I was so weak.

Since starting the IV chelation and the HH, my sleep has improved but I have nightmares. I don't have as many headaches and I am not so irritable.

Not AS irritable with so many outbursts of rage - but - Yesterday I was having trouble untying my shoe. I can't see well without glasses and there was a knot in the laces. As I was telling myself the irritation was nothing but bart and to stay calm, I suddenly just exploded with cuss words.

It was like I totally hated that shoe. If it wasn't still stuck on my foot I would have thrown it across the room. The poor dogs cringed and I apologized to them and reassured them I was just mad at the shoe. What kind of sense does that make to a dog?

Hang in there. This too shall pass.

Haha! Neff! The shoe incident is a familiar one!

I only wear slip ons now-can't handle the laces.

My coordination is so poor that holding onto my keys and locking the door takes all my concentration. Zippers and laces are too much for me now.

I agree with Neff and disagree with Buhner.

Perhaps if one has a small localized bart infection-the body would be able to filter out the endo toxins before they reached the brain.

But an endotoxin is an endotoxin, and for those of us with widespread bart infections, my body can't filter them out as they are IN my brain.

Plus, if we go on the premise that bart is too tiny to produce a herx, then mycoplasma, which is the smallest bacteria, surely would NEVER produce a herx.

I have bart in my eyes, my skin, my CNS, my peripheral nervous system, my liver and my spleen, the bones of my feet and legs. My poor spleen has been ready to kick the bucket for two months.

If I didn't test positive for Bb, I would quite honestly only treat for bart currently, as that is how dominant my symptoms are.

So those of us with bart everywhere, do indeed herx.

I'm not irritated I just feel crazy, fright flight mind won't stop the thoughts and rationality I had back two weeks ago was taken away , flashes bad, minutes magnified . Is this s herx maybe I just went over. Is the answer taking so many antibiotics that you're loaded with poisons feeling like your mind is poisoned. Lemon water detox My reality is so distorted . How did u cope? On psych meds, my psych was happy I had almost 2 weeks on and off of clarity. I am grateful , but when this comes back the logic that I had is like it was never there. . Maybe too many meds bicillin Zithromax plaquenil and septra. Off them for the weekend but if God gives me the grace to get out of this one, don't know hiw strong I can be for this to keep happening. Anyone have anything similar. God bless. My sister is in hell for 18 years like this. I'm not going to rmake it that long.

LIP, sending you good thoughts-- please hang on---
don't know how to advise/ whether it's a Bart herx-

Don't know what meds you are on, but when I hear your flight/ fright panic, I wonder if Xanax or similar could help to tie over?

On the topic of Bart- I have been finding that leveling out my blood sugars has stabilized my internal anxiety/ impatience-
and WOW, is my patience tried daily.

Treating yeast and coconut oil 3x a day has helped me stay in bed longer at night, too- finding I need to get some fats/ carbs in at bedtime helps-otherwise I can wake to eat @ 2 a.m.

HH2 (Houttonyia) I took while heavily treating Borrelia infection w/ antibiotics, and really felt it tamped down my Bartonella. I did it full dose about 8 weeks- switched to something else- gets expensive.

Different Bartonella antibiotics intensified different symptoms-

Anyway, always can relate to the Bart posts-- again, hang in there LIP-

What psych meds work Putnam? I am in a bad place also...on mino/Septra this time, supposed to add Plaquenil. All my herxing or whatever it is (toxicity from abx?) takes place in my head....I don't get it anywhere else, it's very weird.

Great tip re the coconut oil at night. I will try that.

what treatments has your sister done? I thought Rife was working for her?

She did rife for a little while, hasn't touched after overdoing it. She's gotten worse since her husbands bought with cancer. Thought psyche meds worked until thsnksgiving when this went crazy again. Taking klonopin for anxirty, low luvox and a med zyprexa thst I thought was working. Cd, I know how you're in the same boat, I'm sorry. all of us. Have ondamed tomorrow to see what's going on. either mental or physical. It takes turns. I'll take pain any day , my head gets vicious against me, [Frown]

I can tick of bart easily. Saying one doesn't have a herx, healing crisis or whatever with Bart tx is not my experience.

I have a cycle of increased pain in shins, brain inflammation, a bart headache, muscle aches, one of my two front teeth gets aggravated, ears & lymph nodes from ears are swollen and painful.
Which is mild compared to where it was.

Then when I rife for bart.....all these sx happens in increased intensity and then extra fatigue to tell me to rest and rest some more.

Oh and an increase in irritation. Nothing like it used to be when I was fighting mad. So thinking about that.....maybe just maybe the bart bacteria count is lessoning.

Maybe that's why I'm seeing more of the babesia type sx. Babs is the strongest of them currently. Lyme still rears it's ugly head on their cycle.

Full moons and weather systems seems to make them all party hardy.

Don't know whats going on. Went to ondamed today. My lyme and Bart were low, banging frequencies were cerebrum, cerebellum, adrenals 2 programs and delta wave ocd. I'm wondering shouldn't my lyme and Bart be loud with as off as I feel. Could it be the herx did the damage and now I'm left like this. Ran programs today on brain. I'm still way off. Anybody help ? Also hormones weren't banging as they usually are cause body needed brain stuff to deal with first. Good or bad thing?
