Wife's doctor said she can go on I.V. Zithromax 500mg per day with her I.V. Clindamycin or oral Biaxon 1000mg per day with her Clindamycin. Any thoughts or experience. She is also on Bactrim.

I had AWESOME success with the IV Zith/Clinda regimen. It really helped with my cognition. I had to get off of it for GI reasons, though.
I'm currently on IM Bicillin, and I can't sing it's praises enough!

Biaxin leaves a terrible taste in one's mouth, can cause yeast issues and also reacts with a few common supplements.
Just my experience, but I will never use Biaxin again. It gave me heartburn, the taste in my mouth was like I had a mouthful of dirty coins, and it gave me the runs after about 6 weeks.

- Just be sure that liver support is on board, especially with zithromax (as that can be ototoxic and liver support can also help protect ears). Still, if any hearing issues occur, a change may need to be done then.
