Hears songs in his head at night while trying to get to sleep, but can fall asleep within 20 minutes most nights.
Isn't really that sleepy when it is bed time
Craves carbohydrates during the day
Described as "quirky", and "not sluggish"
Fidgets
Memory is questionable
He's not aggressive, too impulsive, or unsocial. Not a major thrill seeker.
I have been trying to determine which neurotransmitter(s) may be involved.
It's so confusing.
I am hoping to learn from other peoples experiences as well.
Thanks Loads,

It sounds like it very well is yeast. (Craving carbs all day, poor sleep, fidgety, memory, etc.) Have you done any special diets with him?
Does he get a good probiotic? Cut carbs and more protein, GF, etc. could make a big difference- often does with the kids.
There is a urine test for neurotransmitters, my dd had it done some years back, but really, it's just a snapshot in time-
FWIW, she came back very high dopamine AND seratonin- not much can do with that, but we treated Lyme and PANS, yeast, diets to heal gut/ brain connection.
Before that neurotransmitter test, I had tried 5- HTP with her, some other supps from neuroscience, all with negative outcomes, threw away bottles.

I have been trying to feed him healthy. I did have him on a low sugar diet for about six months. it didn't really do much.
He is eating sugar again, and way more then he should due to the holiday.
I have been giving him a probiotic juice daily. I wonder if I should try that bouiliardi supplement. What probiotic does your daughter use?
Thanks Surprise. Hope you enjoyed your holidays.

Thanks- right now we are using Custom Probiotics CP-1, no sacc. bould., not on antibiotics or herbs, but she is GF/CF,
and I'm no grain, no dairy, no legumes (Paleo). Hard to keep off the sugar, I know, but makes a difference here.
Take care-

Also, my dd takes a chewable melatonin before bed, and sleeps solid through the night.

Why not have his neuro-transmitter levels tested. Neuro Science does it. It's a take home kit.

Thanks Surprise. Did your dd arouse throughout the night too, and did the Melatonin work for that?
How accurate is the test though Abxnomore? I've heard mixed reviews. Is it urine or blood, and how much? Thanks much.

The neuro-transmitters are tested thru urine, the adrenal function is tested by way of salvia.
I have done the test many times and thru the use of their suggested supplements I have had a great improvement but it's a long term commitment. How accurate is it? I can't say for sure, only that it helped a great deal.
