Hi there, I was hoping you guys could shed some light on some test results. I was tested positive for Bartonella a few years ago, and just recently positive for mycoplasma. I just got tested for babesia which was negative, but had my CD57 done and it was 21. I have been on abx for 1.5 months for bart ( rifampin, doxy, cefuroxime, hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin). My muscle twitching has disappeared but now have terrible head pressure. What could this be? Finally, I had my wife tested because we were going to try and have kids. She doesn't really display any symptoms, but her Igenex IGM had 31 +++ 34 + 39 + 41 +++ 58 ++ 66 + 83-93 ++ Is this a positive test? Her IgG was negative. Our LLMD would like to put her on clarithromycin and amoxicillin if she is pregnant. Everything was done through Igenex Thanks in advance!

As a woman who unknowingly and untreated passed Lyme in utero (and breastfeeding, it will get passed breastfeeding) to one of my children,
I say please, please, take the LLMD's advice and do antibiotics while pregnant and breastfeeding.

Is the head pressure worse than it was before treatment?
I would be suspicious of babesia.
I've had the same thing, which led my LL to begin herbal babesia treatment.
Please Please Please...your wife is glaringly lyme positive.
She needs treatment-pregnant or not.
And please keep in mind spirochetes have been found in all bodily fluid. So it may be possible you infected her, she infected you etc.
Science is still undecided on that. What science is absolutely SURE on is that Lyme, babesia, bartonella can all be passed in utero to unborn babies and also through breastfeeding.

In my local support group there is an entire family very sick with lyme.
All 3 children are congenital lyme.
It is devastating to see an entire household ill and battling lyme. Especially the youngsters.
Please. I've heard there is a good protocol for pregnant women to prevent transmission to their fetuses.

Thank you for the replies everyone. So we found out today that my wife is about 4 weeks pregnant. We are going to get her on amoxicillin and clarithromycin right away. Would it make any difference at this point given that she is already pregnant. Is it too late, or might the antibiotics still help the unborn ?

Not too late. As soon as possible though.
Do everything your LL tells you to "the letter".

Here are some notes I took from the 10/28/11 talk of Dr. J., foremost pediatric lyme specialist in the world. He gave the talk at the 2011 ILADS Lyme Conference in Toronto:
Treating the pregnant mother: There is less than 1% transmission of the illness if the mother is treated with 2 antibiotics during the pregnancy; 25% rate of transmission if she is treated with just one antibiotic; and 50% rate of transmission if she is not given antibiotics at all.
It doesn’t matter what trimester the mother becomes infected. These are the statistics.
Some medications he suggests for the pregnant mother include 1,000 mg amoxicillin every 8 hours for months, also mentioned IM (intramuscular injections), ceftriaxone (? not sure of this--something that started with “ceft“ but not ceftin), etc

Congratulations on the baby, bigz!! Do take care of those two!!
Make sure she also is on high doses of probiotics .. taken two hours away from any antibiotics.
I would also suggest that she begin making/eating sauerkraut to help keep the candida from taking hold in her and in the baby.
(Do not buy canned sauerkraut.. but raw sauerkraut IS available at a quality health food store.)
