Has anyone who is taking Cymbalta been switched to the generic that just became available? Have you noticed any difference?
I have been having a very emotional time... I have not been like this for many years... All teary at the drop of a pin, snapping at people, kind of on edge, Then I realized my pharmacy changed me to a generic. The timing coincides within a few days...Is it possible that the brand name would have such a different effect on me?
Cymbalta was a game changer for me. I guess I need to see if I can get brand named approved and see if it gets better.
I guess just a note, that if you are feeling differently check and see if any of your meds have changed manufacturers.

Lilly's patent just recently expired, but they are probably fighting to keep a generic from being produced; so far there is no generic, but keep googling, it may happen.
I love Cymbalta too, but can't afford it after losing my insurance.

Crawgirl, there is a generic now. It's been out for about 2 months. my pharmacist says I am one of only two to complain of side effects...so it may work for you.
anyway, back on really high copay for the brand name. hopefully it was that and not the return of you know what?

I switched over to the generic and had no problems.
But there have been a few meds that I couldn't tolerate the generic.
Hopefully you will feel better soon.....

How long have you guys been on Cymbalta?
I have a bottle, but it has been sitting in my drawer. I am just taking the pain for now. My worry is on masking symptoms & then finding it hard to determine what ABX & herb does what.
It then becomes hard to determine where to go with treatment. I would think it puts more guesswork into an already guess smitten routine.

messed that up! I meant to comment that you shouldn't use Cymbalta without committing to it longterm, it's really hard to get off of. I was dizzy and faint feeling for almost two months after going off it.
I used it before I was diagnosed with Lyme, for several years. It really did help with the symptoms a lot!

If your Dr. can write on your prescription: 'No generic substitute allowed'
I am told often insurance companies will then cover the original. Perhaps you could check with your pharmacy before asking your Dr to re-write.

Lymed, it helps with symptoms. A lot. But it doesn't mask them. You still have good pain days and bad pain days. I was on celexa before.., so it kills two birds with one stone.
Surprise, insurance is covering it but at a higher copay. I'm back on the real thing now. I'll let you know if I even out again.
