I went to the dentist for a check up and he discovered two teeth that need to have root canals. One I will probably opt to pull as it is very far back but the other one I would like to try and save as it is somewhat close to the front.

I will not do an implant, between the cost and the procedure that goes along with it I know it's not for me. I decided to try oil pulling. Am I kidding myself in thinking that it is possible to avoid root canals by doing this? Since starting yesterday I have increased pain nowhere near the teeth that have the issues. The pain is coming from a tooth he worked on that had a cavity.

They touched a nerve and upset things while you were numbed up. Have you ever tried tea tree drops on toothbrush or gums?

I use it all the time for skin eruptions, scratches, my grandkids when they get a scratch or bite.

Also there could be some bacteria down around that area where they worked on you. You know how these bad guys get aggravated if their territory is disturbed.

You could also try peroxide on your toothbrush and brush all around that tooth and gum. It might stir it up even more for 15 minutes then you should feel it calm down.

I get relief within minutes from both of these remedies. In fact I do one or the other just about every day.

I've tried to oil pull myself. I used sesame oil one time and couldn't do that years ago. Recently I tried it with coconut oil. Someone on this site was talking about the benefits of coconut oil for pulling in mouth.

I was just working my jaws switching it around in my mouth and then accidently swallowed some of it. Then I swallowed some more. I know you are not suppose to swallow the oil pulled because it is full of toxic matter.

Many threads on search icon of this site about oil pulling. Some really good info. I guess one must train the brain to not swallow this? [bonk]

Oh I love oil pulling with coconut oil. Plus it really whitens my teeth. People have asked me if I had my teeth done and I said nope.
