He said he had a patient with vicious insomnia and he gave him the product Adrenal Complex. I ordered some and it came yesterday. I had been taking Cortisol Manager which helped some but not enough. The CM just has herbs, like ashwaganda. The AC actually has bovine adrenal gland.

I also got commercially made liposomal vitamin C at the same time, so I took both of them around 3-4 in the afternoon.
A few hours later I was zonked out on the couch, dead asleep with the TV blaring. I was afraid I would not be able to go back to sleep at bed time but I had no trouble. I woke up a couple of times during the night but went right back to sleep. I have been having 2AM wakefulness, not being able to fall back asleep for several hours.

Last week my anxiety was verging on hysterical and I could not sleep without Ambien. I began Alinia when I got home from my trip a week ago. I began the homemade liposomal vitamin C. My anxiety was gone in about 4 days but I was still having trouble sleeping and wanted to take those sleeping pills.

I had been having IV EDTA chelation for a couple of months and getting worse. I continued liposomal EDTA. About 4-5 days ago I got minerals to replace what was chelated. That probably made a difference too.

Anyway I am dramatically better and wanted to share this. I hope it continues because being able to fall asleep like a normal person is heavenly.

Neff, I'm glad the adrenal complex worked for you.

I wanted to make sure you're aware of these couple caution signs. I wanted to try this but I have high blood pressure.

Several components of adrenal complex products (i.e. ginseng, licorice) are safe only for short-term usage. Most should be used only for three to six weeks.

Some components of adrenal complex products may increase blood pressure. Avoid these products if your blood pressure is already high: monitor if it is not.

So glad it helped you!

I couldn't tolerate it since my cortisol is too high. I would take it in the am and it made me hyper.

The vitamin C probably helped also. It is one of the major nutritents needed by the adrenals.

Where did you get the adrenal complex? Who makes it?

I had a friend who was asking where to get it. She has Dr. H's book also.

Glad to hear you are sleeping better! That can make such a difference if we can get some sound sleep.

Thanks Steve. Oddly I have always had low blood pressure but over the last 3 months, since I started feeling sick again, it has been getting higher. I will keep watch.

I got it at Amazon.com.

That is good luck that vitamins C helps the adrenals function better.

It was wonderful - I have had insomnia since I was 12. In addition to whatever infection causes insomnia, I think I have just been under too much stress and probably was on the flight or fight mode so long I just burned myself out.

Whenever I come out from under bart or babesia, it feels like something is opening up emotionally. I see, hear, smell, taste and just begin to love life again. There has been a glimmer of that.

That is great. I have been experimenting with Adrenal Complex myself....the one by Thorne, is that what you have? I get tachycardia whenever it is time to take the next dose.

What are you doing to treat the bart/BLO, just Bactrim?

Ginger (capsules)500mg - 1000mg may help.

Ginger inhibits ***proinflammatory PDE4*** and increases cAMP.

Neurobiology says: "To sleep perchance to produce cAMP."

I bought Integrative Therapeutics Adrenal Complex.

2 capsules have 10,000 IU vitamin A; 500 mg vitamin C; 60 mg pantothenic acid; 15 mg zinc;260 mg freeze dried bovine adrenal; 150mg licorice and 100 mg eleuthero.

It says to take 1-2 capsules three times daily or as recommended. I have only been taking 2 at night.

Eleuthero is Siberian Ginseng.

I am still sleeping. I wake up a lot but I can go back to sleep. It is really nice.

I also take folinic acid, GABA and L Triptophan with it in the evening. I am not using any other sleep aids. I ran out of the Cortisol Manager and didn't get any more because this works so much better.

I began taking Alinia the day I got back from my trip, about ten days ago, and then I started Bactrim DS about 4-5 days ago. I take the Bactrim in the morning and the Alinia at night - not very much but it is probably hitting what I have and helping me sleep too. My anxiety is gone.

Marnie, I found that joke on the blog written by the LLMD. I thought it was hilarious and so fitting for my experiences.

So does the freeze dried bovine carry cortisol in it? So what you're getting is cortisol?

Glad to hear you're doing well with it.
Eleutherococcus worked wonders for me in the past. It eventually wore off and moved on to different Adaptogens.

Found this.

The major active component is the hormone hydrocortisone.

Here is a list of 75 symptoms of adrenal fatigue. I have had about 75% of them. This has been a life long problem, having come out of a violent alcoholic home and then being tied to crazy siblings throughout life. My insomnia began around age 12. My adrenals are so fried, they do nothing but send out shock waves.

This getting well is very complicated. I keep finding more and more reasons why I stay sick - methyl cycle mutations, environmental toxins, heavy metals and now this.
