So, I did 9 months of IV antibiotics with no slight improvement.

My head movements and head pressure are constant. Those are my worse two symptoms, i can't think straight or do anything because of it.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

The antibiotics I was on included, doxy, minocycline, zithro, flagyl, invanz.

DO you have symptoms of babesia or bartonella?

The antibiotics you took are all really lyme meds. They may have helped slightly with either babs or bart but not enough to get rid of either coinfection in my opinion.

Aren't the symptoms of babesia, bartonella , and lyme similar? How would I know the difference.

Luvema- I too have the constant head pressure. Sometimes it lasts for hours and others it comes and goes. I was doing good of the past three months but the past two weeks have been awful. I don't know if its because we increased my Rifampin and its finally kicking in or what. We are going after Bart.

The pressure is global... it radiates into my frontal sinuses. Sometimes my whole face feels like there is pressure. I have ZERO actual congestion (snot)... it is just simply inflamed.

Sometimes when this happens I get pressure in my ears and I feel the need to pop them and hold my nose and blow. Sometimes it helps sometimes it makes it worse.

Sometimes after I eat the pressure comes on, others it doesn't.

This is by far my absolute worst symptoms. I do not know if it is Bart, if it is still the Babesia (although when I treated the meds did absolutely nothing for me, as compared to the Bart meds which have helped me a little), if its FL1953, parasites, yeast, or some type of virus / mold.

In two weeks my blood is being tested for mold, although I doubt anything will come up. I'm having it done though Igenex.

By any chance, at some point before getting since, even if its was months before, did you get the Gardasil or Ceravix vaccine?

Also, I forgot to mention, I have always developed a now almost constant burning sensation in my head which is absolutely awful. I also have head sores which come and go in cycles.

So many head symptoms. I think I need some better testing. I don't know what to do anymore.

xrunnerx I believe I had the HPV vaccine before any of my symptoms started.

This exactly how I feel about the pressure. I wish it comes for few hours and goes! This stays all day long every single day. It gets worse when I move or when i am in a vehicle. Also it gets bad when I am laying down.

I have zero congestion as well. and I also get it in my frontal sinuses, sides of head, and the whole skull. I even feel the veins in my brain twitch sometimes.

Ema, you ask: "Aren't the symptoms of babesia, bartonella , and lyme similar? How would I know the difference." (end quote)

ILADS LLMDs and LL NDs should be able to sort out the different tick-borne infections. I assume you are seeing an ILADS LL doctor. (?)

While 9 months seems, IS, a long time, there can still be quite a while to go with treatment. For many, when coinfections are assessed and addressed, they see good progress.

If you have not yet been assessed for coinfections, communicate with your doctor about that. Maybe they were waiting until the IV was further along to get into coinfections?

In any case, there is still hope.

MAGNESIUM (3 x a day, not all at once) is important to help some of the symptoms you describe. And good fats such as extra virgin coconut oil and RAW organic coconut oil.

Head pressure can be due (in part) to winds and weather changes. Diet, too.

You may need more in the way of liver support (antioxidants / anti-inflammatory support).

Hi, Ema! I'm so sorry you are still suffering from all of that!! Has your Dr tried any anti-fungals on you? I get head pressure when my candida is flaring.

During bartonella flares or herxes my head tics increased.

I believe, for me, that neuro lyme+bartonella=worse neuro symptoms such as encephalitis, head tics and head pressure.

Greta, has your Bartonella symptoms gone away? How about the head pressure? Anything you know of that got it to finally go away? Did you ever head a burning sensation in your head? Sinus pressure?

Mine turned out to be encephalitis. I had tics, constant head pressure, and cognitive dysfunction.

I was already on IV Zithromax, but we switched the oral med I was taking over to Ceftin, and my symptoms improved dramatically.

So in my case, at least, it was Lyme, and was just a matter of finding the right antibiotic combo (hah, it sounds so easy when I say it like that!)
