And the best test, for me.

Galaxy

IGENEX

It is too bad I did not know that Galaxy tests animals for bartonella. It is half the cost of a human sample. I think I will get the vet to check the other cat there. He has gingivitis and bad breath -

I couldn't believe how much cheaper animal testing for bart is than for humans.

Blood is blood in my opinion, but it must not be that simple. Or is it?

I am under the impression Galaxy is the best for bartonella as well.

I am so broke-more tests are out of my reach for the time being, unfortunately, or I would test there in a heartbeat.

Thanks Greta. I wonder if animal blood looks different so a person could just get tested as an animal. It is 3 times more expensive for a person. I guess we could submit our samples as primates!

I think I will get a single draw for the other cat. That is $125. Then if one or both cats are positive, it is pretty likely I will be positive. Isn't the PCR more sensitive than the serology test? I don't know anything about tests.

Have you tested positive for bartonella or did you get a clinical diagnoses? How long should the cat get abx? I hope vets are not as stupid as human doctors.
